Many tempting choices on this shop. Yum. This is a worthwhile shop!

What part of the U.S. do you live and shop in? The NF offers in my area are the ones I don't care for. (Seven-plus encounters and lots of narrative. How many ways can I come up with to ask what to do with fish without committing to buy some at $25 a pound?) Give me the "check under the cart" shop anytime.

Primarily, I shop the Carolinas. I can easily spend way too much time browsing grocery stores, have no trouble interacting with departments, and do not find the narrative requirements heavy. I leave this store happy.
Don't forget to try the Shop It! App for notes and time stamps
I made it easy with links I have nothing to do with the app other than I helped beta test it long ago. I will say the app is a better experience on apple than on android

Hi. I'm based in California and do the Raley's shops. I shop there already and can build up my Reward points. I've done the Whole Foods/sushi shop. I used to do the Winco shops but got frustrated since it required to evaluate every dept. and have an interaction with each dept. associate. Lunardis is another one in Walnut Creek. Dean & Deluca in St. Helena. I use a 4" x 6" clipboard to carry in my purse. I jot my notes when I'm in a different aisle or restroom. I used to put a couple of back up questions on my notepad to make it apply for the situation. The grocery shops get easier when you've done a few. I can remember the details but not the names/descriptions and times.
I do quite a few grocery shops and love them. I am doing 6 in the next 6 days - getting $102 in groceries and getting paid $37 for doing it.
@catgrannyof5 I am in Southern California, I too stopped doing the Winco (after doing 2 of them) for the same reason. One thing I do is go down an aisle after each interaction and text myself the details (including employee information). I get a lot of texts from myself.
I did Gelsons (never again) and get offers for Pavilions (low pay, low reimbursement). Both require interaction with an associate (and record names) in Deli, Butcher Block, Bakery, Produce, Pharmacy, Floral and the cashier and make a purchase. (Plus the restroom check.) Gelsons also requires finding an employee in the aisles and asking for help. I felt like asking him to help me come up with reasons to talk to both the seafood and the meat counter person - no bakery or pharmacy at that shop. Assume Ralphs is the same?

@PuaM Ralphs is similar. Only get count in all the departments. Get names for 2 focus areas and ask 3 grocery employees for location of an item and get their names.

Count means count the number of employees or count the number of customers (or both?)

I had to count the number of employees in each department for part 1. I had to count the ones helping people and the ones not helping people. I thought it would be hard but there were not many employees in each department, in fact most areas didn't have any. I then had 2 departments that I had to talk to an employee and get name and descriptions. Then 3 employees in grocery area. I would discreetly text myself the information after each one.

You are right. I never see that many employees. Three I have to find and talk to in the grocery area? I think the store manager would be in trouble for having so many employees out on the floor. I sometimes see someone in produce (and bakery and meats of course.) I rarely see employees elsewhere on the floor. Do you always find them?

I was lucky and found 3 but on the report I think it had a spot to check that you couldn't find and employee so I think it if was less than 3 I would have been ok.

If there are three out on the floor it's likely they are stocking and you don't have to get any if they aren't there. You have to do two rounds to make sure but then you just comment on the fact there were no grocery associates. I rarely find more than one. Much of the time no one is on the floor. I have occasionally found two and maybe in the hundreds of these I have done I have found three a handful of times.

@Traveliz

they were stocking like you said.

I love grocery shops too!! I am doing 2 today and did a bonused one yesterday for $50. smiling smiley
The first Trendsource grocery shop I did I thought I had to find all the associates. Once I realized that I did not have to, they have become easier. The hardest part is the shops in Northern Kentucky where Service Deli is by appointment.

Glad it is working out for you. I will give it a try the next time I see one in my area.

I love MSI/Trendsource, personally. I am really quite good at them. I can crack them out in 15-20 minutes. I do spend the 30 minutes in the store goofing off if I can't find an associate, but I get really good at these shops. i make a list of stuff I want/need, and bring coupons, total my prices, and then make notes in my grocery list notebook on associates. I usually do a little grid/diagram to tally things on too. Makes it quick, easy, and it goes for me. I pick up 5-20 of these in a month. Sometimes more when I can manage the travel.

I run a resale business so many times if I do not need things I buy closeouts, collect them and put them into a bin for one of my clients to sell. Use it for lottery ticket money. So far I'm up $15 since July 1 on lottery winnings.

Produce question; What's the difference between red, yellow and green bell peppers?
Red bell peppers are actually the ripe form of green bell peppers. There are also some bell peppers which are yellow or orange when ripe, and those are also green when immature. Regardless of which you choose, the mature (ripe) ones will be sweeter than the immature green ones. Many people prefer the less sweet flavor of the immature "green" peppers.

Doing grocery shops is like a second skin to me. I LOVE them.
My problem is I'm too much of a shopper....just did my Source grocer, and just cannot stay at 9.00. My grocery cost today was 25.00, I've got many great things in the house, so I'm not complaining, and for another 11.00, I've got food...do wish i could walk past stuff like some of you.

Live consciously....
