Video recording for women

So, I am thinking about buying video equipment to record shops but wondered what works best for women, when we don't have a pocket for a pen or whatever. Thoughts?

Buy appropriate CLOTHING. I carry a notebook and pen everywhere I go -- no disguising it necessary (for me). If anyone asks, I just tell them I'm old, I can't remember anything anymore, so I have to take notes.
Shirt button cameras are the industry standard. One way of stabilizing the button camera (which is disguised as a shirt button) is to attach it to a bra, at the back of the camera. Many, like me, use a shirt mount, which allows us the adjust the camera height as necessary during a shop by just tugging gently on the shirt shoulder seams.

DO NOT buy any video camera with the idea of being paid to do video shops without checking with a major video MSC about equipment that meets the industry standard. For that purpose, no pen camera or broach camera or eyeglass camera will do.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.
Like walesmaven said, if your intention is ever to complete video shops you need a proper camera. If you are just recording for yourself rather than spend the money on something like a pen just use your video camera on the phone or buy one of the inexpensive apps.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
Thank you, this is super helpful. I will do some additional research! smiling smiley

Is there one that you have used and felt worked well for completing video shops?

The PV-500 with the HD camera offered through Greyhawk video is the right thing. Dan knows exactly what the video industry wants. He is going to be at the November IMSC conference in LV and I fully expect that he will be at Videocon17 in Colorado Springs.
