350 scam

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Dusty, Giggle away but don't respond. You have been on this forum for 6 years and should know the answer to your question. Or did you just post this so we could all giggle?
It's a scam. They find out our info from reputable companies or forums and send you the email in hopes you'll reply. They then tell you things like MoneyGram or Western Union and that they are sending you a cashiers check etc. Sometimes they'll even mail it to you! I had one send me a check--which I turned over to the post master because it's illegal to use the USPS for fraudulent behavior. I mean, of course it's illegal anyway, but the use of the USPS tacks on a higher penalty. But yes, definitely a scam. Those folks are at it again.

While possible, it is unlikely they got our email addresses. It would make no sense to target real mystery shoppers who can see through the scam immediately. Instead, these are most often blast emails sent to randomly generated email addresses or addresses culled from other sources. It takes little time to send thousands so even if just a few are acted upon the scammers have a good return on the time invested.

Run like hell

I sort of would like to "take" their job but then act really confused and make them email me back and forth for a week trying to figure it out. Then when the fake money order arrives instead of sending them the gift cards I would mail them a box of dog turds. I won't ever follow through, but thinking about the ways I could spoil their day is fun.

Just this week I got an opportunity to buy some gold bars from Africa for a low low price of $30,000 each. I wonder if they would negotiate down to $28k.
Scammers may target a domain name & run a computer generated program to "send" to everyone on a domain. If 1/10 of 1% of thousands of scam emails are opened and answered, they can build their mail list from there. The key is...if it looks too good to be true....it probably is. If you suspect it's a scam...don't click on any link in the email or respond. They have just validated your email and now have a valid target (because you validated it by answering)

Yes, I knew it was a scam I would never respond to something like this. Actually, a friend received this & sent it to me asking what I thought. Nope!! But, it did make me giggle, I thought of the 3 Little Piggies!!
