Editors - RANT

Last week, I did a highly bonused shop for a regional bank. It was an inquiry shop and it went smoothly, but didn't exactly fit with the metrics of the report.

The editor, who clearly did not read my entire report, asked me to put certain things in quotes, and detail my interaction with the banker. Since that was done initially, I emailed the editor and asked her to explain what she wanted because those items had already been done.

No response, and the shop is still open in my log.

Yesterday, I saw the same shop reposted on the job board. I got a call from the scheduler yesterday asking me to make the edits by a certain time. I had a discussion with her, and asked her to read the report so she could see that the edits weren't necessary. I then asked her about the shop that was posted, and she said it was a back up plan in case they could not use my report. She called me twenty minutes later, and said that my shop had been finalized, no additional edits were needed and I received a 10 rating.

All of this could have been avoided if the editor took the time to read the report. This could have been closed out on Monday instead of Thursday.

I'm not naming the MSC because they frequent this board. Rant over.
