Godiva ice cream shops - what happens when the equipment does not work?

What happens when a store is open, but they can not provide the product you need?

I went to a Godiva store today, but the soft serve machine was not operational. I waited for two hours and the employee said the machine would probably not be working for the rest of the day.

I took a photo of the storefront as well as a store business card.

I'm sure the MSC will want me to go back, but will I (or should I) ask for additional pay? And if yes, how much?

Thanks for any insight you might have on this type of situation.

I would contact the scheduler and ask if they want it reported as it happened. There is potential value to the client as to how a breakdown was handled. If they want you to reshop, ask for the full fee because you spent a significant amount of your time attempting to perform the shop. If they can't bonus by the full fee, see if what they offer in addition makes it worth your visit.
I did a "Job Shop" that turned out to be closed.... (open but the portion I needed would be closed) They said if I went back, they would pay me for both shops plus $10 for my trouble. I thought that was very fair. It worked out to $50. smiling smiley Not sure how this will work for you but you did what you were supposed to do and you took pictures. A malfunctioning machine should not leave you empty handed. smiling smiley
You should get paid a full shop fee as you could not know there machine would be down. If you are willing to do a re-shop being a 2nd shop you need to decide if you want to and if so you should get a 2nd full shop fee equal to the first. Just my opinion.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Thanks for all your insight. I was trying to get a feel for what would be fair, without being greedy, and it looks like the MSC is agreeing with y'all, so that's great for me! smiling smiley They have not indicated a re-shop, but instead they said to submit my invoice and close it out. Thanks again for your feedback!
