Odd box dimensions, please advise if you know

I have a reused box for a post office regular box shop. It's 14 x 7 x 11. Normally the boxes I use are 12 x whatever x whatever. I looked at the box and thought about it, and I am wondering if the post office will accept the box dimensions without a surcharge. The dimensions are not as big as what we use for dimensional weight shops. I am going to email my scheduler to ask and see if she knows, but thought someone in here might know and have a quicker answer. Thanks!

If you get on the usps site there is a place where you can put in the dimensions and it will tell you. It's a combination of multiplying and adding.

I recall the guidelines for the Regular shop box having a maximum dimension of 12". Maybe this was in a previous edition of the guidelines and is no longer there, but I always stay under 12" for the max length when doing the Regular box shops.

"We're just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl -- year after year..."
I had read that in previous guidelines too. Bubble mailers are still A-Okay, yes? I better go read up before the 6th!

Using a bubble mailer on monday and its my first one so wondering :/ ps the pic has to be from a digital camera?
Bubble mailer is okay, boxes must be less than 12" on all sides

I regularly mail a package that is 14x14x4 for the regular box shops. I have never had a problem doing that.

Any box I ever used that is over 12 inches in one direction gets charged the dim weight fee which is much more $$. Perhaps if you are sending only 1-2 lbs and it is in a closer zone than the dim weight would be it would be cheaper. I took the test for the regular shop last week and the guidelines I read said it has to be 12x12x12 or smaller.
It's an easy fix with my box cutter. Thanks to all who posted.
A 14x14x4 package may not be ok for the regular box shops but even though both sides are over 12 inches it does not reach the status of a dimensional weight package. I mail dozens of that size package and for ground it costs me under 10.00 for most locations (usually 7 something) and priority is under 20.00. This is due to size and not weight.
Does anyone know if you use a bubble mailer or anything other than a box, does the 12" restriction still come into play?
I've only ever used boxes, which I get for free at Family Dollar, Dollar Tree, or Dollar General. Since I frequently end up shipping to Florida or Texas for regular box shops as well as for Hazmat shops, I come really close to the fully allowed reimbursement. A box purchase would run me over the reimbursement.

I ended up cutting off the end by 4 inches and making new flaps. Worked out perfectly.
For all of you who do Hazmat shops I just came across this several year old article in the postal news.

For some reason, lately, they have been saying "Answer the questions" and pointing to the cdu and not actually asking the question verbally. And this is in my city and cities withing 3 hours around where I live. Maybe they're too tired from the Holidays.
Hi,
hope someone sees this..
theres a question on report that states enter time in minutes, i get it.. the other is enter time in seconds? help please!!! Do I convert the minutes or do I write the extra seconds here???
If it took 5 minutes and 32 seconds

you put 5 minutes in the minute box

and you put the 32 seconds in the second box

there are two separate boxes, one right after the next
Thanks Spicy and Jas. Off to do the shop smiling smiley first of these kind..
You got the Mobi Audit app? Easy way to enter the majority of your report. Some people use the app to submit too but I don't. I use it to enter most of my results because I take the receipt photo and the box photo with my phone, so I just upload it like that, and the timings and "yes/no" questions are easy to answer on your phone. I enter most of the info using the phone and then when I get home later I pull it up on my desktop screen and enter the tracking number and Bill ID # (so much easier and faster than typing it on the phone), then double check that everything looks okay before final submission.
no, I don't have the app.. so if i input on the app, it is automatically saved on my msc's website too?
Yes. If you have android it's in your google playstore as Mobi Audit. Don't confuse it with Mobee.
Cool. In the future it makes it darned convenient if you have several P.O. shops to do in one day. I like to email my scheduler on the day that they are released with my route request for 4-5 shops that aren't too far away from each other for various days (last week I did 9). Then, I pick up some filler shops to do in between and make a nice route. I can pull out of the parking lot of the post office and park somewhere for a few minutes, enter most of the info from that shop, then go do my filler shop, then on to the next post office shop. Keep in mind that you need 30 minutes in between your receipt time and the time you enter the next post office. Also they prefer you don't visit first 30 minutes or last 30 minutes they are open, but I am sure you saw that in the guidelines. Also, invest in a small postal scale so you can make sure you package weighs at least 1 pound. I also get my boxes from Family Dollar, Dollar General, etc. if I am doing shops where I am mailing packages to my friends in zone 5 and it's a regular box shop, that way I don't go over on the allowed reimbursement (if my mail class to Texas is $10.25 that leaves no room for a box reimbursement).
Thank for all the tips, esp. the app. easy to do shop and easy survey.

Hope they are released every month.. if I may ask, are they??
