Ace Hardware Shops

I used to do the Ace Hardware shops often, but am not seeing them anymore. Is anyone else seeing them still?

Yes I see them. I'm considering doing two Monday if this other job I applied for doesn't come through.
They are still available in my area. I have 2 this weekend and should be getting a call Tuesday to complete another 2.
I just searched a 200 mile radius from my home and there are zero hardware shops for me. I have never flaked. I've always reported my shops by the deadline. I have never had a report sent back to me. I'm frustrated.
I wonder if they concentrate shops regionally. Like right now in my 50 mile radius there are seven, four of them I haven't seen on the board in quite some times, so it may be they just want to target certain regions at certain times, like maybe next month I'll see none but someone else who sees none now may see 20. Who knows. I have yet to figure out MSCs and clients and how they operate....especially that MSC (I like em, just can't figure them out).
There are two that show up on a regular basis for me. However, there are way more than two locations in the metropolitan area. I wonder where the others are?

Yes, but I always end up with something I need, so that helps.

I just did one in the southern Ohio area but there was only 1 in a 100 mile radius so not sure how they post them....
Got one this weekend, and I also had a "phone" shop for one of them.

And just like dust, I will rise.
There's only 3 locations in my area that are regularly on the board but there are way more in the area. They are franchised own so maybe that plays a role, idk.

The one on the board in my area is listed higher than usual. I'm waiting for a make a offer or call before I accept the shop.

I did one this week and have another on Saturday. All the normal locations near me were all on the job board this month.
I have a route of them this weekend and Monday, all with small bonuses - I offered to take every shop on the route if my scheduler would add a small bonus to each, but I also regularly do one for her that no one else will do.
Every month the same 10 or so are listed in my area. I do not like the lower fee but, do use them as fillers. There are 2 locations that are an hour away that I always get a nice bonus for.
How much are they in your area?

The one that's on the board in my area is listed for $10. They are typically lower.
They are currently the same but, only 5 (I think) days left. I will be calling a scheduler tomorrow to see if I can get my usual bonus for the shop an hour away. I have 4 shops planned already that are halfway there.
I did one in the Boston area yesterday for $10 including phone shop -- it was a few feet away from another shop and I needed a $5 item from a hardware store anyway. There are two more that have been sitting for a few days and are now up to $12.
The two you see are the same franchisee. The others are owned by a few different franchisees. What is odd is one of the other franchisees does have their stores shopped in other cities, but never here.

The shops started out at $15 a few years ago and have been decreasing ever since. When the purchase could be made from any department it often had value for me. When they changed it to only the department of the scenario, and the scenario was most often plumbing, I stopped even looking at them.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

Since the MS hides the department to be shopped in its postings and I can't rely on buying what I need on these shops, I don't self-assign them unless bonuses make them worth my time. I hate it that the MS is hiding more and more important info. on some of its other shops, such as the hours some restaurant shops can be done. It's especially disgusting when it's a late night / pre-closing shop.
As long as your item makes sense for your scenario, you can purchase it, it does not have to come from the plumbing department. On my last shop, I purchase clorox. I really needed it and my shop was approved.

The items I tend to buy at my local stores are totally unrelated to any scenario I've seen so far. I don't get the connection between Clorox and plumbing.

Google Bleach Clog Removal. Clorox is very effective as a drain declogger. The active ingredient in Drano is Sodium hypochlorite, which is bleach. Of course you wouldn't use a lot of it as it could cause damage to your pipe. But bleach and hot water can unclog a toilet. I've done it myself.
eyelove2shop - That's a good tip to know. I have to remember that the next time the shower drain gets slow. I've been pouring some clog remover and will try your method next time. It'll be cheaper to get bleach from the dollar store vs. $5 drano.
