GigSpot...NOT A FAN -I Secret Shop? Hmmmm

I certainly understand the need for MSCs to outsource and streamline their scheduling, but I certainly do not like it that two of my favorite MSCs, Mercantile Systems and Goodwin Hospitality switched from their original platform to GigSpot & I Secret Shop!

My favorite thing about Mercantile is that they have offered some outstanding hotel shop opportunities in the past, and I have benefitted greatly from them. But, I have not seen one hotel shop since they have been with GigSpot, and when I log into their Sassie platform, I see a few shops that I never see on GigSpot. I just want things to be like they used to be when Merc's shops were on Sassie. I LOVE MERC, just not the scarceness of finding their jobs on Gig...

ISecretShop has a very cool concept, and it is a more shopper-friendly platform than Gig, but I can't help but to think that I am missing out on the quantity of shops that used to be displayed from companies when they were on their own, unshared platform!

I got an email notification from a shopping board I forgot I subscribed to when I started digging more in to mystery shopping of an available shop in my area. Pay rate was great so I went looking for it. When I clicked on the msp website, it said that I already have a gigspot account and have to log into through gigspot. Well so I did that and the shop isn't there. I can see it through the board but not gigspot and I searched everywhere. I don't get it. After doing some more digging it turns out it was a shop that I had recently completed so I couldn't do it again but the pay rate was double then what I did it for..just makes me wonder what else I am missing out on?
I just tried to log into Strategic Reflections. It is making me choose either Gigspot or their website permanently. It says the action will disable Gigspot permanently, but does that mean across the board or just for SR? I"m not a fan of having to choose permanently. There are jobs on their classic site that never show up on Gigspot.
I had to get rid of Gigspot in order to use the classic sites. It is odd the app makes us choose yet doesn't show everything.

I got rid of Gigspot for exactly this reason. It was not hotel shops I was after, but a restaurant/bar. Mercantile posts the restaurant/bar first on its own site and those who log into their website grab them, so most locations of this client never make it to Gigspot. And I had difficulty logging directly into Mercantile instead of Gigspot. I also had problems getting into ACE.

I emailed Gigspot and requested to be removed. Gigspot does have great customer service. I got an immediate email response that it had been done. I'm off Gigspot now and I log directly into ACE and Mercantile. I'm getting a lot more assignments. No more problems. I'm glad to be free of Gigspot.
I dumped Gigspot, even though I liked it. If I have to choose between Gigspot and the regular site where ALL the jobs show up, that choice is easy. It's a shame though.

Lisa, how did you get rid of gigspot?

Just email them at Help@GigSpot.com

I asked to unsubscribe and I got an immediate email from Rebecca at GigSpot Help telling me my GigSpot account had been deleted. And my problems ended immediately.
Well low and behold I just dumped gigspot as I had to choose between gig spot or classic shopmetrics version of the individual msps sites. Up until today I was able to choose the classic on my laptop and still use gig spot on my phone. The gigspot experiment seems to have been a mess from the beginning.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
Glad to find this thread as I ran into this dilemma yesterday and was about to ask the forum the pros and cons of each choice. My pop up on the Merc site says I have to choose one or the other and I can never change back again!!! That never change back again is the part I am most concerned about. I too wonder whether choosing Merc will delete everything on Gigspot. I am not signed up with many of the other companies on Gig so it is a way for me to check them out and see if they have anything interesting. From the above it sounds as though most are choosing the classic site. I guess I will follow all of you. I am a new shopper for Merc but I do want to have access to their whole site and any info on it.
@Sandyf...go with Merc's classic, once you go gig, you can't go back....they never have jobs you or I would do, and you have to take all of them...totally a disaster waiting to happen. I still can't get off gigspot, tried help@gigspot and link doesn't work......Merc just called and asked me to do a bar audit (please pretty please),
can't say no to them, but they said they'd try and get me a bonus, won't know until Monday...I'll still do it.

Irene, I just hope the scheduler is not reading this!!! But I won't be the one to tell them you would do the job without the bonus! Be careful what you write. Thanks for the advice. I am going into the site to accept the Merc choice.

I opted out for one MSC and my whole Gigspot account was deleted. Not my intention, but that is the way they operate. I cannot stand the ShopMetrics platform, but guess I will just have to bite the bullet now. Bye Bye Gigspot.
Yep, when I chose the MSC site all of Gigspot was deleted and I was informed that the app would no longer work. Sayonara, Gigspot.
Ugh. Gigspot is a soup-sandwich.

Merc wanted me to do some airport shops that I have done for them in the past. It was such a hassle trying to get itno the site with no errors, I gave up. I did work for Coyle since that was easier, if you can imagine.
My sister gave me her Prada handbag she bought in Italy and a diamond ring which my daughter has been eyeing. She is in a home and being I helped her son, I got a choice of I wanted before the estate sale. MS'ing, Channel perfume and a Guess handbag, more from my family than my work. I do love Louis Vuitton bags, but guess not in this lifetime.

When you delete the gigspot account it wipes your SSN/EIN from EVERY shopmetrics website. You have to go to each company individually and re-enter.
I just checked one of the companies, my SSN was not deleted and I did not go back to each company and re-enter after deleting my gigspot account.

Like Lisa, nothing was deleted from my shopmetrics companies when I requested that GigSpot be removed.
I just deleted Gigspot, and when I tried to sign in to Sentry Marketing and Strategic Reflections, neither site would accept my password. I had to reset both passwords. I hope I do not need to do this for all the companies associated with Gigspot!
Perhaps it is something new. I registered in October and asked to have it deleted on November 10. If a lot of shoppers were leaving they may have decided to make it that much more difficult. After all, if the majority stop using the app the MSCs have no reason to keep up the association.

My dearest GigSpot,

How do I hate thee? Let me count the ways.
I hate thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can fall, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of being and problematic folly.
I hate thee to the level of every day’s
Most raucous need, by darkness and candle-light.
I hate thee freely, as men strive for release from your wretchedness.
I hate thee purely, as all turn from your aggravation.
I hate thee with the passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s nightmares.
I hate thee with a hate I seemed to lose
With my lost sanity. I hate thee with my breath,
Frowns, tears, of all my life; and, if God choose,
I shall but hate thee better after death.

The nail in the coffin for GigSpot? Tonight I was working on an application on GigSpot (foolishly) for a company I already work for and it TIMED OUT and erased my requested narrative and everything else I spent 15 minutes on. It's not bad enough that I can't get GigSpot to display right mobile. I also had to uninstall the app because it wouldn't work. Some of my jobs won't even show up! I hate that it changed all my passwords to the MSC websites. I swear up a storm as I'm trying to log into the websites and half the time I can't figure out what is the problem until I request my password... OH IT'S GIGSPOT, THEY CHANGED MY PASSWORD. How could I be so stupid? Of course. My god, if I knew it was going to be this ridiculous, I would never have signed my name in blood to use their service.
Seems like a lot of MSCs switched over to Shopmetrics and then used Gigspot. Personally, Shopmetrics is my least favorite of ANY platform. I find them very hard to use and the job searches are rarely accurate. I can enter zip codes, states, radius, and update and get results I did not ask for. Maybe I will stop by their booth in Orlando and get a crash course in trying to decipher how to use the bloody thing. Give me Sassie any day! Easy!
At least I can use the Shopmetrics platform without having to use Gigspot....I hate Gigspot. I was one of the first shoppers who signed up with Gigspot when it came out last year, and had nothing but problems with it. I quickly got my Gigspot account deactivated with the help of the folks at Shopmetrics. For those of you who like GS, more power to ya!
I believe that Mercantile has many opportunities on their Shopmetrics platform. The Sassie platform is dead.

When I opted out of Gigspot many many months ago I was not told that my account would be permanently deleted. What is the reasoning behind that concept????
