I'm not a fan of shopping in general, but being paid to shop is wonderful.
I like the crowds, the struggle to find a decent parking spot, the associates who obviously don't want to be at work, the bad layout of a store, dressing rooms with five customers worth of clothes still piled up, and the people fighting over that last item that is reduced from $40 to $39.95.
I like mystery shopping for the extra cash that always shows up and I am surprised each time.
I like that I feel that I am helping the store in my own small way, and maybe helping the clerks/waiters/waitresses. I especially enjoy when the clerks or waiters/waitresses do a good job and I can provide positive feedback on the form. But even when the experience is not a good experience, I feel that the shop gives the information that the business needs to improve. Whether they use it or not is up to them.
You control your own success. And you can determine yourself what successful is.
