Why I love us mystery shopping

I would be broke if I wasn't getting reimbursed for all the times that I eat out a week. This is why I love mystery shopping. Do a little work and get a free meal. Mystery shopping is also great for the grocery store's and oil changes. Oh, I almost forgot the movies. It's Dang expensive going out to see a movies these days.

I prefer the pure payments... Tours, cell phone shops, banks, retail shops that do not require a purchase, rental companies... anything that I do not have to get reimbursed for. Now, I do like an occasional hotel shop that affords me some time in a fresh work field. and some fine dining thrown in for good measure is a real treat!

Ceases, even if we lived in the same town, we wouldn't be competitors. Your favorites are my least favoritesmiling smiley & you probably feel the same about mine. My favorites are apt shops (but I never do targeted), vacation planning, furniture, banks, and appliances.
Chris, you're right! I hate appliance and apt. shops, never even heard of vacation planning shops, wouldn't like furniture (did beds once; horrid, horrid experience!), but I DO love bank shops!!!!
I hate loaning people money, so I like no reimbursement, phone, and web shops the best. Also grocery stores and gas stations since I have to do that anyway.
Eating out, grocery shopping, oil changes, overnight hotels. Companies like the Source that pays twice a month.

I'm not sure if reimbursement shops are the same as loaning people money. I think of them more as rebates.... if I'm going to buy the refrigerator anyway, I might as well do extra work and get the rebate. I wouldn't do reimbursement shops on things that I wouldn't spend money on anyway... Just like I wouldn't buy a new refrigerator *just* for the rebate. But if I'm going to buy one anyway... might as well get that rebate, even if I have to fill out a form and take a picture, etc.

That makes sense if it is a reimbursement for an item you would have purchased anyway. The small reimbursements just for POV, not so much.

Never try to teach a pig to sing. It's a waste of your time and it really annoys the pig.
I love the flexibility. Just now, I am taking a few weeks off from shopping. I am trying to catch up, to some extent, with Mr. Thomas. "My education was the liberty I had to read indiscriminately and all the time, with my eyes hanging out. (Dylan Thomas) I am doing the rest of my education. (Translation: I am reading whatever I want until my eyeballs fall out and/or I need a shop fee.)

My reading education consisted of seemingly endless mandated materials. There was never enough time for the rest of the readable information in the world.
Mind you, I wish someone would pay me by the page, or by the word, for all this reading. Those would be perfect, relevant mystery shops for me. But I will read anyway. I will read all the stuff that I did not have time to read in school because I was forced to read responsible, cultural, classical, technical, other-language, and other mandated stuff. Now, I get to read whatever I want to read. This is too fun. And, I haven't read a shop guideline in days. What a concept!smiling smiley When I return to shopping, I will do something quick and easy.

I'd love to know what vacation planning shops are, @ChrisCooper.

My favorites are restaurants, hotels, and assisted living centers. I like doing apartment shops but don't like writing them up for some reason. I've done a couple of fitness center shops this month that forced me to work out, which was pretty awesome.
