Drug Screening Gone Wrong

Ok, I just had a shop that was for drug screening.

Have any of you done this one??

This shop went many ways wrong and the person in charge of this account isn't being all to helpful.

First, off you shouldn't have to feel like you committed a crime.
Secondly, no one should be able to hold your ID hostage.
Lastly, what happened to me should never happen to another person again.

I am told I will not be paid because I wasn't able to complete the screening for a simple drug test. I have had a military drug test and needed way less urine than they demanded. I went into this shop thinking quick shop between appointments and WOW yeah not quick and not very pleasant.

Not a happy shopper!!!!

I have seen these in my area too and go back and forth about grabbing one, they almost seem like too much of a hassle.
I don't think they pay enough. A long time ago they used to pay pretty well but they cut the fee. The location is right down the road from my house (5 miles) so it's a shame.
I see these all the time and wish I could do them. Your experience makes me glad i can't.
I've done the pre-employment screening ones. I've had a handful of associates act like I was an addict but most read the form. They do almost always screw it up in some way.
It was a $16 shop for what I thought to pop in pee and be to an appointment down the road. I allotted myself 30 minutes yeah didn't happen. I know this location well. I went right at the perfect time where I wouldn't wait too long. All went wrong. I wonder if it would be ok to share the full story on here with out giving the location away??
Generaly you can share your story. Do not reveal a mystery shopping company's clients.

I did this shop almost a year ago. It was the pre-employment screening. Other than the water in the sink still running when the associate turned it off, my shop was quick and easy with no problems and a very professional attitude.
My experience was: 2 urine shops both EASY but the attendant left me alone with my urine sample....BIG No No (tamper risk) and I had to report that...tongue sticking out smiley
when i read title i figured spilled pee would be involved.
I signed for it as it was about 4 miles from me. The person there called me to verify the appt., and was so intent i got a bad feeling and told her I wasn't able to make it. Not enough $$ is right. Everything cancelled without problem. I was quesy about giving blood.

I think most of these are urine sample drug tests, Irene. Yours was a blood sample? Ick. I wouldn't do that either.

Oh hell no. No one is sticking needles in me unless I am at the doctors and it's absolutely necessary.
It was a pee test no blood hun. smiling smiley I wouldn't do anything with needles either.
When I went the clincian said, "The water has been disabled," however after she left the room... Splash!! it was not disabled!!! Ha! Caught! But mine went quick and easy.

Done those. Never had an issue. Done the blood tests too. I watched the technician pulled out fresh supplies of needles and what have you. Even at a doctor's office, things can go wrong too. Sometimes I forget to load up on water to provide enough sample.

My MSC was a different MSC and YES, was for an Ins. Co and required both blood and urine hun....sad smiley

I was responding to Irene who said she would have to do both blood and urine for $15. No flippin' way. I did the urine test for $25 a long time ago. Like I said, they lowered the price (same MSC) and it's right down the street, but it was enough of a PITA the first time.
I've done two of these. The first one the guy did nearly everything wrong. He left cleaners in the restroom, left the water on, there was no blue colorant in the toilet, he left me alone with the sample, he didn't have me verify the sample ID #'s and had me initial the seals while still on the paperwork. He did make me leave my purse in his office, so he got that right. The shop took 10 minutes and the report was
easy. The second one, the lady did everything right. It took ten minutes and the report was easy. No way would I let someone draw blood for a shop.
It wasn't a drug screening, but the cholesterol test shop (which included a blood draw) gave me some really helpful information.

That would be worth having blood drawn, for sure.

When I had Lyme Disease they took blood for tests because they had no idea what was wrong with me. The nurse poked me a few times trying to get a vein and I seriously had to have him stop while I threw up.

I have no problems with shots though. It's quite odd.

Edited to add:
I am not as squeamish as my older brother who passed out during the "drunk driving" video they used to show in high school that had all of the car wreck photos from people driving drunk.

I had a terrible experience with a blood draw shop. I am not even sure that the person who drew my blood was a certified phlebotomist. I documented everything that happened and reported it. It was only worth the $25 shop fee IF the person was fired. I'm sorry to read that this has happened to someone else. These are at the top of my 10 foot pole list (above car test drives!)
When I was getting cleared to complete my internship at the hospital after getting my Medical Transcriptionist degree, I had to have a TB test first. I know the nurse thought I was out of my mind because I couldn't look while she was doing it, LOL.
Funny thing, I have a very quesy stomach, yet at my Dr.'s office, I go have blood work every three months, I look away and don't feel a thing, their nurses are the best, always hit the vein and take a few seconds. These people they hire and have to evaluate, NO and NO....10 foot pole.....I've had a T.B. shot, pnemonia shot and all the rest,
never a problem, get a good Dr. and don't play with your health.

It wasn't a TB shot, it was a TB test. Not the same thing.
Hey Jasflalmt, I was wondering why you think these Drug Screen shops are such a pain. I just saw we have a couple in my area and I'm on the fence on weather or not to accept one. It SEEMS like it would be a simple assignment, but I'd like to hear a little bit more about your experience if you don't mind. It appears from this thread that it's quick and easy for some, but others consider it a 10 ft. pole assignment. It's only paying $15 in my area (DrugScreen Preferred....whatever that means) and I typically will only do those lower paying shops if I can get the on-site and report done in an hour or less.
Meddleblute:
To begin with, they used to pay $25. I won't take shops where the MSC lowers the fee, especially cutting the shop fee by $10. That's ridiculous. When I did the shop at $25, the location had a waiting room full of people and my appointment time was not honored. It took me 20 minutes after my arrival to get in to give the sample, and after that I had to write a report. That's okay for $25 I guess and I might do a urine only shop again at that price. When I think about the fact that I can do a post office shop in 5 minutes with a reporting time of 10 minutes and make $12, all the more reason why I wouldn't do this shop for $15.
