odd ball request

I just got an email to re-send my receipt as there is writing on it....what!!
I saw the receipt does say in handwriting at the bottom, "Thank you' with a smily face. I'm not resubmitting it, the Server writes this often, so I see no problem, anyone else have this happen.

I would reply 'sweetly' that I did not understand their request. 'The server put the smiley face and thank you on the receipt and for me to white them out would constitute my tampering with the receipt.'

I asked (sweetly) if they got a new Editor, as this happens from time to time, and have never been questioned. I surely wouldn't thank myself.....picky, too picky.

I've never had that happen with a receipt, but I had an editor question why "I" wrote the website on a cell phone store's business card. It seemed to take her awhile to understand that I am not the one who wrote it, the associate did.

I have never ever been questioned about the writing on a receipt, even when it was me writing something to myself, like which location it was. As long as they can read the print on the receipt, why should they care, unless the print itself has been doctored? I find this very suspicious.

That sounds really strange. So many of the servers at restaurants I go to now write on the check. Usually just "thank you" and their name, but sometimes smiley faces or "have a great day" or something. I would think a MSP editor would be used to that.....

Scheduler checked receipt, went through, everything o.k. didn't want to delay process, so, we laughed and moved on....

I got a request to resubmit a recipt because the MSC cannot match the receipt with the report because there is no street number on the receipt just the steet name. Well the receipt resubmitted has no street number on it either because there is no street number on the receipt just the street name. The paper used in the register is too narrow to get all the information on it. I will be on the phone first thing Monday morning because I cannot help what a companies register puts out.

That is something that has worried and frustrated me before. You have no control over what a business shows on their receipt.

I also get the message to make sure that my time in matches the time on the receipt. My time in is not going to match the receipt when the store owner does not change the register time clock when the time changes in the fall or spring. The other one that has gotten me is the receipt shows a completely different store name. That is because the guy owns more that one store and one register goes down so he just brings one from another store. Chanages nothing in the machine to show where it is. I jumped through hoops to prove I was at the right place on that one.

I did a shop that was very low on help due to two employees not coming in...someone didn't update the register, and the wrong date was printed on the receipt. I shopped this Mon., and receipt said Sunday. I was questioned and, swore I did that shop on Mon., would have no reason to make up different day, as you could do it anyday. They checked and yes, register wasn't updated, things just happen through no fault of yours, happens rarely, but does happen.

Lol - I had a shop "denied" because

1. The receipt had a mall location on it, but didn't include the actual store ID number. (ie - they were in space #159, but the receipt didn't say that. The receipt address DID match the street address I was given for the shop.)

2. The two stores beside them - it was an end unit and there was no on on their left - it was a dead end. I said that, The store on the right had moved and was an empty shell. I said that. I also included in the narrative what was right across from it and what was the next closest stores on the one side.

Denied -- MUST have shopped the wrong location!

HUH??? It was the ONLY store with that name in a 20 mile radius. I called them before hand (phone number matched the receipt with the report) and the address matched up. *eye roll*

Somebody didn't want to pay bonus monies...and no one will shop this location anymore. The shop is always available, always bonused, always desperate emails and phone calls...

That is a company I would not work with further and would turn off emails from them though not terminate since subsequently they may get their act together.

I turned down their phone pleas for help. (I use to enjoy working for the company. This was a different scheduler that begged me to help her in her area while I was there. I am there often.)

I don't apply for shops.


I am waiting, I think, for the schedulers to tell me that person is gone. It's happened before. Someone new comes in, rides hard all over good shoppers, black lists shoppers, shoppers quit/don't get paid, etc.

Then out of the blue, that employee is gone and others are offering up work again.

Things will come around again. Just need to wait it out. And I like that other schedulers still call me asking me to help them. I know them, they know me. But with the bad scheduler still there and still able to put her fingers in my shops, no thank you. (They all edit the shops as they come in. So although one person assigns it to me, it's a wild card who will edit it. If she edits, no pay.)

I have been including on my all receipts, the assignment ID and my shopperID. I write them on before taking the picture. I have not came across a problem yet. I need to keep the know what receipt was for what, especially when I do a couple FF shops in a day. (Breakfast,lunch and dinner). I placed the numbers in the middle so that it does not block or ascure anything.

All the info the MSC needs to see is right there. If there is a time difference or a day problem, I usually write it in the report.

I did a parking shop last week. The parking ticket was stamped two hours earlier, than when I arrived. I wrote in the report, I did not pay for parking. The ticket had me being on the premises for three hours when I was only there for one. SO what I was being reimbursed. This might have been a scammed the original parking agents was running through the MSC.

I think I was lucky for leaving when I did. Afterhours leaving would of cost me a problem. I included both tickets in my report and the discussion I had with the parking attendant (the Company being shopped) about the time difference. The MSagent or schedulers were not aware of the actions of the attendants.

My scanner allows me to frame the receipt. I get in there tight, and the "Thank you" scribble on the top or bottom of the receipt disappears. I also use "paint" to block out and eliminate server's scribbles if they get into the content of the receipt without blocking out the content.

It takes a couple of extra minutes, but they cannot reject the shop for an excuse that is not my responsibility. If they do not want to see scribbles, they should tell the server to stop scribbling on the receipt.

If the MSP does not mention they want a "clean receipt" I leave the scribble in.

I find this fascinating because probably half of the receipts have "Thank you!" or similar scribbled on them, I never clear it off and I have never had them questioned. It IS what was given to me by the location, and I assume any scribbles, gooey fingerprints, blotched out sections because they dumped the heat printed receipt in a pool of water on the table, etc. just come with the territory. If a section is not legible I will tape the receipt to a carrier page and write to the side of it what it said before scanning it.

I never have this problem, even on receipt with large drink stain caused by the server. It was barely legible, but you can make up what it said. I think this is just depending who you dealing with. Some are more picky than others.

I sometimes will even mention in the narrative about the bill presentation, etc. the nature and quality of handling the bill because it is part of overall good service to present a clean, complete and accurate bill/receipt. I will never write on a receipt myself--not even to darken letters or numbers--since I know that some (but not all) companies will disqualify it as 'tampered with'. And when defacement of a receipt is my fault I will own the error and hope for the best (yes, I have picked up a receipt with greasy BBQ fingers and left spots myself).
