Over a given year, where do you get your best earnings?
Cellphone shops. Mainly because they almost never get filled here for some reason. So I'll wait until I am called or they raise the price.
My DIL made on offer on a cell phone shop for $75. It was accepted. It was, of course, a bit of a drive to a remote location. She managed to make a nice route in the same city and should come home $300 richer today.
I do 90% casual dining for my own enjoyment. Habit Burger is a biggie, and they've been posting a lot more lately. Wahoo's is a fav but I seldom snag more than one a month, if that. I went about six months without getting a single one. *sadface*
But in the last month I've revisited Five Guys, which I had stopped doing, to try their new delivery shops. Sooo easy and the pay is much better than their usual. For some reason I was able to do a couple in the same week; now they're enforcing a 30-day wait. I just wish their food was more to my liking.
If anyone knows of other MSCs that do delivery shops, please let me know by private message so as not to hijack the thread. I will put you down for a referral if you want.

SQM.ca has some airline shop. They offer partial reimbursement in exchange for a lengthy, but easy report that takes about 45 mins. Mostly things you would notice anyway.@gypsy wrote:

Use the search function on the forum for apartment shops and change the parameters to all dates. This thread has nothing to do with apartment shopping so you won't get much feedback.

Although rare, the best paying, usually end up being junk removal shops. Otherwise, if I can put together a route, those are usually pretty good. I had one route that was purely for shops, an overnight trip that included a hotel for one night (planned to be one, ended up being two) that doubled my monthly total at that time. My MS income fluctates a lot more now though, and I haven't come up with a route like that since though.

OMG I didn't realize those exist. I have so much stuff to get rid of but can't carry to trash and don't want to pay a service. Doing it as a shop would light a fire under me to get it done. Would you mind sharing who does those shops? PM if you prefer.

I personally tend to prefer announced or scheduled work. I consider the gas stations that I do included in this, because you "announce" yourself to the employees after the mystery shop portion. I prefer these because my memory is not so good. It is very difficult for me to remember details when I have to do a mystery shop. If you do announced visits you get to take your paperwork with you. I don't live near a large city, so I have to be careful when I do a lot of bank or cell phone shops . Sometimes the employees work at multiple locations. In my area I can wait until the end of the month when shops are paying big bonuses. If you live near a big city, you probably have to compete with other shoppers, but it sounds like you can bundle shops.
For potential newbies, like barbage, it depends on your expectations like: Do you live near a big city? Do you have a reliable car, and how far do you want to drive? Are you looking for part time work to give you something to keep you busy, or do you need money for a steady income? For me personally treat my work as a business, and the more effort you put in, the more money you can make. Along those lines, don't expect very much at first. Because I have to drive further, I think I averaged about minimum wage at first, particularly when gas was $4.00 per gallon. Once you establish a could reputation, following instructions & completing reports on time, schedulers are more likely to call you to offer bonuses or at least put you on the top of the list for being assigned jobs. At the time when gas was $4.00 this was my way to determine if I could at least make minimum wage: If I was doing one shop I needed to make $1 per one-way driving, and if I was doing more than one I needed $0.50 for each mile on the entire trip. Since gas is cheaper, you obviously wouldn't need that much. When I started it wasn't easy to make that much. Now that I've been doing this for over 10 years, I work for a lot of companies, and I can essentially can pick and chose which ones will pay better. I hope this helps.

All I can say is to sign up on Gigspot. If they are in your area, they would be there. You can google the company name when you see it, if you aren't familiar.
Best single shop was $175 porsche shop. I enjoyed it. Almost bought me a porsche. A cadillac guy bought a porsche and brought it back, had only 800 miles on it and they discounted it by 20 grand from 80 grand and said i could have it for 60.
I think my best income come from the end of the month shops and those I am willing to travel for. I have even stayed at a campsite to save hotel fees while long distance traveling. It was great to see the income and the fantastic foliage and photos we took during the trip!

How did it match up with the Bluebook value? I would have jumped on this deal if the vehicle valued more than what they offered you! Can't missed out on a great deal!!
Very infrequently shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado these days.

Apartments, banks, various video shops, casinos.... Random shops in the middle of nowhere with very large bonuses....
