Cupcakes and the blues

I asked about a cupcake shop because a friend is having a birthday. The shop has been just sitting there, collecting dust. It's $45 reimbursement only, so you'd have to really need a dozen cupcakes to make this one pay.

So as I said, I had some questions, but the respondent did not address them. Instead, she said the shop was paired with a music venue. I had never been told such a thing before and I thought it meant I had to somehow combine the shops?! No, silly, I could only do cupcakes if I also spend $70+$60 at a concert venue.

Looks like i'll be doing some baking. Needless to say both shops are still collecting dust.

I find they are starting to combine shops. I saw a cosmetic shop i used to do and wanted, only after assigning find out its two seperate evaluations, which they forgot to mention.....used to do one for 25.00, now they're offering 20.00 for two...with a very intense report. Tricky, I'll say.

That cupcake shop they expect you to taste each and every cupcake personally and then report on it. LMAO! NO THANK YOU!
If it is the ACL shop they pair a hard to fill shop with a more desirable one.... Nothing new and you either take it or you don't! It's just business.
I'm not speaking of ACL...another MSC that never did this until now.

Umm... Am I the only one struggling to find the problem here? Who doesn't need a dozen cupcakes; ever?

Is the company ACL ?
Yes, I wanted to leave it open in case anyone wanted either the MSC or the client.
I can't seem to quote jenniferling here. But omg I saw that requirement too late for my inquiring email. Seriously, who does these? These are expensive cupcakes, I'm sure they're delicious, but I can't imagine taking 12 bites out. (Is it 12? I never learned how many flavors need to be tested. It could be fewer than 12. Even if it's only 4 flavors, that's just weird.)
I figured it was acl. 12 bites is too much. It's much more than cutting open a few donuts, at least you can keep a bunch of the whole donuts.
Why am I not surprised it probably involves tasting each one. Twelve small bites is not the issue. What value is there to a reimbursement for a dozen cupcakes if you cannot share them? And before someone says a fork or knife can be used, how many people want to serve guests food that has had bits cut out?

Ya' know, some clever or possibly ghoulish soul could turn those leftover cupcake bits into Halloweenie dessert... A stray eyeball here, a little slime there... Ew! Was that finger?!?

Or, not. And this is only possible for one holiday.

If only they could all be chocolate then I would have no problem with bites (or whole cupcakes) out of all 12!
I've done this one several times. You only need to taste each flavor so if you get all chocolate you only need one bite. It is pretty difficult to take just one bite of those cupcakes tho. The first time I did it I had no idea about the taste test so I ordered 6 different types. Now I have it down to 3 or 4. If you do it look at the daily list on the retail website and choose a day for the shop when your fave cupcakes are available. Despite what the cupcake store says they freeze well and you can even put them in the fridge for a few days. They are still great.
I've done those twice, before the msc paired difficult shops. I ordered 2 of each and took the duplicates to a friend recovering from chemo. The shop and report are easy and the cupcakes freeze back. I am backing off from ACL with their current method of scheduling.

Keeping in mind this is the dozen pre-order I'm talking about, I can order all the same flavor? I was under the impression the questionnaire had certain flavors stipulated that I must buy and try, but I don't see the questionnaire unless I am assigned the shop. And she didn't answer that question. Why do they require us to sign up before we can see details that may cause us to cancel? And then they penalize us for canceling.
The concert shop ends tomorrow, so if they didn't fill it, maybe they will let me take the cupcake one? I'm doing this for a birthday, so freezing isn't an option. I also asked if I can pick up a little before noon, despite the guidelines.
It doesn't hurt to ask for the shop only and for it to fit your timeline, just get it all in writing.
I have not done the shop in about 9 mos but there were no ordering requirements. You could get any flavors you wanted except the doggie cup cake or the minis. I do seem to remember after noon. But you could pick them up the day before if you are visiting your friend the next morning. They will still taste good. You could choose any assortment including all alike. They also have little candy ornaments you can get...often they are free. I have not gotten an email from them about that yet but it is usually around a holiday time so perhaps they will offer that for halloween in a week from now. When they do you do not have to get halloween. You can get baby shower ones, bday ones, or a whole assortment of others. Usually they charge quite a bit for those toppers. As a bonus, your friend can offer some to the hospital staff if she cannot eat all herself. We had that brand of cupcakes gifted to us all the time at the hosp where I work! That is how I grew to like them.

Sounds like this may work out anyway. I can go the day before. That's IF they let me take it without giving me DA BLUES.

The funny thing is this party is for our apt community's weekly karaoke DJ, and there will be one resident we call Bluesman cause ... well, he sings the blues. So there very well may be Cupcakes and the Blues.
Singing the blues about mystery shopping? Hmm I can see who figures prominently in the song.
Goodluck on your baking and happy early birthday to your friend!!<3

That is crazy. I can see why no one wants them.

I usually have it paired with the Pizza one but that is no biggie since I do 3-4 of the pizza shops every month since my Father loves that place. I like getting the 6-cupcake shop so I have less writing to do and I also make sure I order no more than 4 flavors so I have a tad less writing to do
