Opening a Wells Fargo account

Has anyone done this shop. It requires you to open a new account, checking. You can close it later but they prefer you keep it for at least a week. If you keep the account open then you can do other shops. I was just wondering about the report. How lengthy and detailed.

I opened an account over a year ago. Easy shop. Easy report. I really liked the banker and the bank. I kept the account open because I like it. But, although they told me if I kept the account open, I could do teller shops, I've never seen any teller shops. I think they will allow you to open up to 3 accounts but I only opened one. I've thought about opening another.
I have opened a checking account. I'm scheduled to open a savings account this week. They are not hard. You will need to listen to what the banker says to you closely but it's really pretty straightforward. I use this checking account now to fund my mystery shopping. So if I buy gas or postage or other shops that require a purchase this is the goto account for me.
Easy shop and easy report. The only additional shops I've seen for current customers were from the same MSC. I have never see teller shops either.

I opened a checking account and I'm waiting on some existing Wells Fargo shops to come out in my area so I can open a savings. That one will be closed. The minimum balances are too high.
I opened the checking account and followed up the next month by opening a savings account. They were relatively easy assignments because they have heavy competition around here so the associates do a good job. The pay was pretty good and nearby since my area has branches on every other corner. I kept them open for the required time but closed them fast. WF's recent history is hardly ethical.
Thanks for the reply’s, the shop is bonused out and close. I’m not looking for a new account & I’m not real fond of this bank. I don’t know what their fees are like but think I shall try this one.
Do they do a credit check before you can open an account and are there any fees associated with closing it within the first month? I looked at doing one of these, but I'm not sure that I'll qualify because my finances fell apart when I lost my day job a few years ago. I'd like to get a separate account for mystery shopping but suspect it will be at another bank that I used to stop.
I did it. Very easy. After I opened the account they had another shop to close accounts so I closed it and that was a very easy shop too.

No credit check (but I already was a customer of Wells Fargo so I don't know about people who aren't customers). No fee unless you keep it open over 30 days then the monthly fees start.
I believe they do a soft check in their system to see if you have a habit or record of bounced checks, insufficient funds, or just a low credit score below (making this up here) maybe 580-600. It's a soft check, though. I do want to say the shop does require it to be a regular checking account? I would look into details. Some banks offer a bounce back account, but shops don't usually like this option when they send us to do a shop.

I opened a checking and savings with them. It was good pay for easy work all things considered. Like everyone else, no additional teller shops and only the two accounts opened up. I can say if you see Woodforest, City, and Chase there are additional shops out there for those banks and you can have accounts GALORE!

Thanks! This helps a lot.

I shopped Woodforest back when I lived in an area with an abundance of locations, and I have been watching the current listings. I've already been thinking about opening one with them again, but am waiting until I can get an account opening shop in my local area.

Not in my neck of the woods., Although but you can now do direct deposit into PayPal and they set up with Wells Fargo of ND.
I opened a checking account today and just applied for another shop for an existing account to open savings. There is still one more existing account shop in my area; what would be a 3rd type of account to open knowing i will be closing within one month?
I recently did my first Well Fargo and first check opening account...I am closing it today to avoid all the fees after 2 months.

Before I do the account opening shop, I must have more information.

Do they accept transfers from other banks in lieu of direct deposits into their bank? (My direct deposits are spoken for. I will not change this for any amount of a shop fee.) Is the regular checking the account that has an acceptable opening balance of just $25? Is there any consideration for place of employment, age, military, or other condition?

About that report. I now do bank shops that have several narratives throughout the report. The narratives summarize blocks of questions. At the end of the report, my answers and narrative have told the story of my bank visit. I make typical observations: time in/out, timings for events within the shop, who is wearing what/is this professional attire, tell us about exterior and interior conditions, did they answer all questions, how did they present information, did they enunciate and use plain language, etc.

Does this sound like a Wells Fargo account opening shop report? tia.

Yes 25.00 is right, they have direct deposit. I think they can do anything else, but remember they have fees, so close it before 2 months. They encourage getting a debit and credit card...I'm a bit perturbed as they already sent me cards and now I'm closing my account. I would have kept it open (after all that), but there are too many rules and fees for this and that.... it is easy money, so do it and find out their rules. My Banker was really great and nice and explained everything to me, almost too much info. I'm embarrased to close account, keep putting it off.
Job took me 50 minutes as they do push Investments, but pay is good.

My banker didn't mention investments or anything besides a savings account. I was there 38 minutes. Easy in and out and easy report. I opened and closed an account in the past and waited too long and had to pay the $10 monthly fee. But I believe I did it right online so no embarrassment.
River, credit checks aren't done to open deposit accounts.

The bank shops sound like a PITA. You have the hassle of going back into the bank and closing the account a few weeks after opening it. I would need a monster sized bonus to consider one

25 foot pole job.
I did one as an existing WF customer. I found it easy to do, and well worth the time involved vs. the pay.

I opened a new savings account, so I did not have to worry about fees when keeping the account open.
I find the pay very good for time involved plus I learned a lot if i need another bank, but don't think it a good idea opening up more than one checking at same bank. My Wells Fargo is 4 blocks from me and in the Krogers and SB I go to, so location couldn't be better. He asked why I was changing, I told him i wanted a bank close to home
I still go in monthly.

You can close it online, easy peaay, as has been mentioned.

OK. That's much better. But I don't like to have things hanging over once I have completed an assignment. I guess if the fees are reasonable, people do them. But they are not for me.
My WF you couldn't close it online, had to go in ,took 15 minutes. Banker really nice and sweet told me about her upcoming wedding.

Just did my first one last week, and it was much, much easier than the Woodforest account-opening shop. It's not a lot harder than some of the CSR bank shops.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
I have not been doing it from months and waiting for a bonus. I have got more shop fee from opening BOA accounts and I was waiting for wells fargo account opening fees to match(or at least be close) it. They are both from different MSC though, but may be now i expect more from account opening shops because of BOA.

Anybody who feels the same way I do ?
I felt Wells Fargo fees were fine according to the time, but then, I'm not the greedy one on the forum....$60.00 for an hours work and no driving works for me....
