Meijer shops not ending...just went to another MSC. You know the one. Have 3 interactions in grocery, spend $9.00. Payment $14.00.

I thought I knew which company based on this but checked the board and didn't see any listed. Perhaps they are all scooped up in my area. In the meantime I will remain on the hunt for these. Thanks for the heads up!

Those aren’t the Meijer shops that were offered in my state (which is the home state of Meijer). There were different shop parameters and payments than those listed above, even at the base rate before the shops were bonused (which they often were). I don’t want to violate my ICA by giving more specifics about the shops themselves. However, thanks for the heads up that these other grocery shops are now available. Many of us were sad to see the Meijer shops go!

racdsmith, are you referring to the Meijer shops that the base pay was $10 (without bonus) spend minimum of $2 reimbursement of $2? The Meijer shops with 'you know who' are different requirements as it seems that 'you know who' set the shops up just like their Kroger shops. Which completely sucks! But the reason I suspect these WERE the Meijer shops with 'South Spoon' (not) is because the email we received for 'South Spoon' (not) was dated 10.29.2017 and 'you know who' posted requirements dated 10/27/2017. That seems suspicious dated just a couple days apart. Plus, I never saw Meijer shops with 'you know who' before.???
I'm curious to know: Did anyone do Meijer shops with 'you know who' BEFORE 'South Spoon' (not) stopped doing them? and if so, is it normal that more than 1 MSC does shops for the same company at the same time?

I don’t have any Meijer shops with the new MSC you guys are hinting to so maybe they are only in some areas. Even if they were available with that new MSC I wouldn’t be picking up many as I don’t pick up many of the Kroger shops at base price except the one that is right next to where I work and it’s a small Kroger so it doesn’t take long. They do occasionally get bonused in my area and that is usually when I will do them.

Lissymaree I just got a Meijer bonus with the new MSC we are hinting about! They called at 3:00 pm today asking if I could do one tomorrow at 12:00 (noon). It's 5 miles away, but still I asked if they could pay a little extra and she said, "Yes, I'll give you $10 extra." fa-luer-dah, I said, "Okay then!"

I don't see them with the new company either, and I never got an email from the old one. I'm also wondering if this is happening regionally or in phases. Not excited about the format charging, as I thought the amount of work fit the pay before (for the department shops), plus bonuses were frequent and generous.

I’m not seeing any Meijer shops from anyone now. Am so sorry to see them go - perhaps it was regional if others are now seeing the shops? I probably won’t do them if the format (new MSC) is changed to be like Kroger’s.

They are not in central Ohio unless they were picked up really quickly which I highly doubt if they are like the Kroger format because most of those jobs sit on the boards forever around here....

Yep, I'm near Cincinnati and I refuse to do Meijers with the new msc. Interact with meat/seafood, produce, deli plus other employees. Too much work for that kind of pay.

I am in KY. I did Meijer shops last month for the old MSC, but I haven't seen any appear on the new MSC. Are you talking about the MSC where you do cheese and deli for Kroger?

Thanks for the update @DareWright. It sounds like whoever the new MSC is, they are replicating a shop scenario similar to Kroger...interesting. I agree with you. I won’t be doing the new ones. We all loved the old MSC shops because they were streamlined. Oh, well...they were great while they lasted!

Yes, it is very similar to Krogers.

I did a Meijer shop with the same MSC that does Kroger. There was only one Meijer shop listed on the job board that I could find. It was structured similar to the Kroger shops and was not like the Meijer shops offered by the old MSC.

The MSC that does the Kroger shops has done Meijer shops for several years. They are competitor shops for Kroger. That's why they're "similar" to the Kroger shops. I plan to look to make sure, and maybe I should have looked before posting, but based on the descriptions here, they're Kroger competitor shops.

In fact, one time I did a Meijer shop for the old MSC that just lost them AND the Kroger MSC that you're currently referring to. I did them at the same time, with the same receipt. (I'm NOT looking for anyone's opinion as to whether or not you agree with my practice.) Both reports were accepted and I was paid with no issue whatsoever.

That's because one report went to Meijer and one report went to Kroger.

One of the Meijer stores in Michigan used to post their mystery shop evaluations in the front of the store where customers could see them, but since the old MSC ended their relationship with Meijer, there have been no reports on their board. I wonder if they stopped doing them? I've noticed when you check out now, you are asked similar questions at the little kiosk that were on the old reports. Maybe this has replaced mystery shopping.

I've noticed that too, that on the credit card reader at the check out, customers are asked a question about their shopping experience, such as, "did you find everything you needed today?" and "was the store neat, clean and organized today?" I think they are trying to get to customer to review how they are doing. The problem I see with this is that the question comes up after you have made your payment and most people are just ready to get going, trying to put their wallet back in their bag, make sure they have everything etc. and don't bother answering the question.

Well, I see one of the Meijer stores is posting their mystery shop reports on the bulletin board again. so they are still doing them. I haven't found the company that's doing the shops yet, though.
