Easy Peasy

Well I have been watching a few jobs that require you to just go out soon after it gets dark to take a picture of a business to see if all of its lighting is operating properly. These were offered at the laughable amount of $3 apiece. I wouldn't get into my car and spend gas for that. I kept getting notices that they were increasing in commission, $6, even $7! Whoo-hoo. I just happened to check tonight and they were $11.50 each. So my hubby and I get in the car and do a loop of three of them in our area, taking just over a half an hour for all, and I have submitted the reports. Easy as can be, I almost worry that something will be wrong because it was so easy. So $34.50 for less than an hour's work, including inputting. If only they all could be like this. Two out of the three had no outages, so one pic was all it took, and three questions. smiling smiley

Sorry to hear about your discouragement, Jude. Maybe something easy and rewarding will come your way too. smiling smiley
That is great! That's what I call a steal. I too try to grab them when they are offering more.
Unfortunately, CRI only offers these when they are really DESPERATE. They are the lowest paying company on the internet that I have run into. I won't work for peanuts either. Good for you to hold out, but don't expect it every month.
CRI is a rip-off. They TOTALLY underpay (yeah, I know they increase over time, but even still...), and then they'll try and find reasons to reject your report. Sassie shops usually take a while for payment, but at least they don't insult their shoppers with ridiculously low payments!
Right, CRI is a rip-off. But as long as people keep doing their shops for the terrible pay, that pay will not increase. Just say no......
I actually like CORI if they don't have the ridiculously low pay. Sometimes I have actually laughed out loud reading what they expect for the reimbursement. smiling smiley
If I remember right, I think I had to take some tests to join. I thought with all I had to go through, The pay must be good. WRONG!!. What really gets me is you don't know what they pay for a job until you take the test for the job. When I do see the commission rise over $10.00, It's never there.
You remember right cdeadrich. The tests are long, and then you find out the pay is $4 and you have to take pictures and buy stuff.

And 57carol, I too have laughed out loud at the pay.
What gets me most is that you have to take a test for EACH and EVERY shop you want to do. I should be able to see the shop's info before I decide that I want to take the test! Give me a break! And even when I do take the test, they STILL wind up rejecting my shop! I did one shop for them. Never again!
I agree pixie! I have not done a shop for them for over two years, and I don't intend to do any.
I do the restaurant shops for CRI. They require that two people go to the restaurant. They do not pay for the tip. When they get desperate they do offer a fee, sometimes it is less than a dollar, WOW!

CRI does pay quickly and if I stick to something like a hamburger(that keeps shrinking), the food is adequate for lunch. They require two lunch entrees and 2 non alcoholic beverages for the $25 fee they pay. You cannot do the same location twice in 30 days. You cannot cannot eat on their dime more than once a week.

For Dinner, they increase the reimbursement to $40. They allow a diner to go to the salad bar. That and the micro sized 6 ounces raw is about 3 to 4 ounces cooked piece of meat adds up to a reasonable dinner with the salad bar.

Still their "real steaks" (10 ounces or more) cost over $20 each with the 2 required non-alcoholic beverages and the required appetizer (least expensive about $8) or dessert (least expensive about $5) you can have a check of over $60, plus a tip only $40 reimbursed.

I will take the $40 discount on the meal, but I would not eat there unless it is subsidized by a shop. There is NO VALUE and they keep cutting the portion size. Next they will be asking the diner to pay $40 for two people and bring some meat from home, and they will cook it for you!

For $40 I can get 2 real 16 ounce ribeyes, trimmed nicely, two beverages and all the peanuts an elephant can eat as the peanuts are free at the Texas Road House. I would like to know who evaluates that company.

Remember, we are independent contractors and we can refuse shops, drag the burger grill out of the garage and make the same meal for under $10 that will put their offering to shame.
My son-in-law does lots of shops for CRI but waits until the price tag goes up. The best part is being able to jump online when you have time and self assign to a shop that is available NOWWWWW! The gas shops in Louisville all start at the miserable $3.00 but many have gone up to close to $6.00 already this month. He's grabbing them before they are gone. Then he'll get the higher boonie ones later in the month and even next month. I've been out of the loop for a while due to heart surgery and now computer malfunction. Am checking the forum from the library. Hopefully will see y'all again soon. BTW I started a whole thread months ago about the tests and wanting to see into the detail of the shop before the exam. I finally gave up and took the stinkin' exams. The exams plus some added patience gets us gas shops for anywhere from $9 to $35 on a regular basis without age compliance. And if I'm willing to drive, I pick up craft supplies or hardware for a fair chunk of change. When you've done enough of these, you can do them in your sleep. lol
The easiest shop was a liquor shop in a bar. No, not a bartender integrity shop, but one that a brand of gin commissioned to see how their gin was being presented on the shelf, in the menu, and by the bartender when asked, "I'm interested in a gin drink. No, not a normal gin and tonic, but something unusual. What can you recommend?"

It paid $35 and a reimbursement. It took about ten minutes to enter and was a short walk from my house to boot!

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
I liked those gin shops too. I scheduled one across the street from a dinner shop I already had.
I agree with you 57Carol. I had picked up 2 of those sign shops. I wish I had picked up more. By the time I went back to get more they were all gone. When they come out again, I definitely will take more. That is the easiest shop I've ever done.
