Best buy audit

Has anyone done any Best Buy audits? Looking into doing one this month, does it really take 7 to 8 hours? I also have to complete a background in a drug test. They said after to completed audits they would reimburse me for that.

I will not try them. I am not going to put out money for a background check to maybe get it back after making minimum wage or less. I was told that they often take longer than 8 hours.
Even if they DON'T take that long you are REQUIRED to stay 5 hours (which, btw, makes you an employee). At $85 that's $15 an hour before expenses. You can do 3 crappy Maritz gas station audits in 5 hours and make just as much. I have heard they do bonus them well at the end of the month but even at double it's a heck of a lot easy to make that much money in a day doing something else.

I wouldn’t do them. Not only do they sound physically exhausting, if they insist on drug testing auditors they should provide the test for free plus pay for your time and travel expenses for getting the test done. That’s part of the job, and you shouldn’t have to work for free. No thanks!
I have done several of them, they are quite detailed, and the first several will take at least 8 hours. After you do a few, and if it's a smaller store, you can get done in 6 hours. The $85 pay seems good, but I can do a bank shop for $20 that only takes 30 minutes, so the BB ones really should pay higher for the detail and work involved.
They need to pay $150 each, minimum. Aren't they embarrassed? They should be. You get what you pay for.
They should pay more than that. Including driving you could do 10 gas station audits in the same time. That's $200-240 in the same time.

I have done them since August of last year. I only do three a month, and they are very easy. It is like working a shift, but you get left alone. It's all legit, and they pay out with in three weeks max. It does get a tiny bit tedious, but I personally enjoy that type of thing. It isn't as bad as it seems.
I also do agree that they should pay out more, but I think that's a general consensus of every single shop/audit that people do. They only do the initial drug test, and you get paid back that money once you complete I think it was either one or two audits.
If you ever have any questions on it my go between is amazing. I've never waited more than five minutes to get a question answered from her.
Of course these are all just personal opinions, and also if you live in a small town like I do. These can greatly bolster your income. I usually take about five hours, and that's with like an almost hour lunch. (I also used to work merchandising. So finding things and working planograms are cake for me.)
So if you like to do meticulous work it may be worth it for you. It would just have to be a personal call.
Based on past feedback on this forum, this shop has been (and remains) on my 10-foot pole list.
I average between 5 and 6 hours to complete an audit.

I have completed over 300 of these audits. The MSC pays promptly, offers bonuses to reliable auditors and to those willing to travel. The schedulers and program director give excellent support. There are monthly conference calls to acquaint auditors with changes to the program.

I have seen posts expressing negative opinions. Some may not have participated in the program or given up after only one try. Paying for the drug test and background check is a minor problem: do two audits, get your money back. I invest in my business regularly, paying a refundable, $35 up front, for a regular stream of audits, that generates a five figure income annually, seemed a no-brainer.

Like any new task there is a learning period, my first audit took two visits to the store. After that, as I became more familiar with the requirements and the layout of the stores, the time taken to complete the audits declined quickly.

In a different post another board member reports earing over $9,000 a year. I work an average of 12 days a month and make more.

No, I don't want a free meal. I do this because I want to make money.
Unless they are removing the rotation requirements of every other month then you must be doing 24 different Best Buys. There are only two in my town. You must be traveling. $9,000 a year is great money but how much does that equate to per hour, especially if you are traveling. Why do they still pay $85 each after all these years? So, $14 per hour if it takes you 6 hours and $17 an hour if it takes you 5 hours. Less travel time, gas and mileage study I can't even imagine how many pages now, conference calls, use of all of your own equipment phone or tablet, none of which are paid for. Anywho, I'm glad it works for some people.
I see now that someone is claiming that they are completing these in 4 hours. omg Those and the 20 minute Ross tags.
In a smaller store it is possible to complete the audit in 4 hours, especially if you are seasoned.
When I have finished early, I communicate with my scheduler.
I am sorry, I don't understand the "Ross Tags" comment.

What are you doing and how? Are you entering information in a tablet?
Really I just paid for my drug test and back ground. I noticed they do pay more but do I have to do this for every company
I usually complete the audit in 4.5 hrs, that's deducting my 1/2 hr lunch break.
