Postal Shops - Weighing down the package

It's unfortunate that it's zone 8 for me and will cost me more money, even if I reuse a box and don't buy one.
I have the opposite problem, they're zone 4 for me. Ok for regular box shops, but not good for hazmats. With regular shops, as much as possible, I send them to myself. That way I don't have to worry about what I'm sending as long as the weight's right.

Speaking of postal shops and weight, I swear there is a postal shop I'm assigned right now that has a curse on it. It's in another town so it's one I can mail to myself for regular box shops. But for this particular assignment, I have been there 4 times already and I have yet to actually have a successful shop. Today's problem was that I had the weight wrong. I used another post office's scale to weigh my package and I would swear that it said it weighed 1 lb 13 oz. But I guess somehow I misread it and there was no 1 at the beginning. I didn't realize that it was underweight so it wouldn't be accepted until I got home. Luckily I started early in the date range and I still have time to complete it. I have to wonder what will happen next time? No excuses though. Each time I've gone there it was my own fault that I couldn't complete it. And of course today, since I actually mailed it, I'm out the amount of postage. Live and learn. DETAILS, DETAILS ,DETAILS!!!!!

I've never heard of anyone doing that...Do you put the exact same address for the return address? Most of my PO shops are located in a different town from where I live so if the MSC doesn't mind you using the same address on the same package, I'm going to start doing this too! Thanks for the tip! BTW, has the PO employee ever asked you why the addresses are the same?
I either make up an address for the return address (the PO doesn't check that) or if I'm feeling frisky, I'll go to realtor.com and choose an address of a house that's for sale in the town I'm mailing from. I use a fake name for the return address too.

I use my MIL's address for the return address.
I normally stick in extra computer printer paper with a note, "ignore the random paper, needed for shipping"
Walgreens had 1lb boxes of sugar on clearance for $.33 fit perfect in my 6x9 bubble mailer.
