Papa Johns gave me 2 garlic butters & 2 pepperoncinis

If a restaurant can’t serve food that doesn’t need doctoring, why would anyone be spending money at that restaurant?

Agreed. I would never do that. If the restaurant had food that had to be "fixed" and I was spending my own money, it never would happen!!!!
I had this happen when they were in the hands of one of the old companies -- I received 6 peppers and 4 cups of garlic in my box. They did tell me to remove the extras from part of the photos but to keep them in for a shot as proof they did give me extra. After that, I made sure to use different names and phone numbers. My mom and grandma don't mind me giving their numbers and with cellphones -- that's 4 more numbers I can cycle through.

The pizza I order is generally good, and it is very popular with most people. I personally like more of certain ingredients. This is no different than tasting restaurant food and then adding salt if one desires it.

Taking ingredients out of your own cupboard or refrigerator is completely different than adding salt or pepper to a dish.

Maybe so, but I get what I want without the fuss and muss of dealing with other ingredients that I do not usually have on hand. Can you say, I am not going to bother with making a pizza crust?

And, the pizza company offers what most people want. This is good for its bottom line. Most regular customers probably would not choose what I like for my personal, specific, unique pizza preferences. There is not a lack of restaurant or food quality. There is just my personal pizza preference which would not sell well to other people.

I know this is against the grain because you are not supposed to touch any items in the box-- but it if was ME- I would remove one of the extra garlic cups. PJ is NOTORIOUS for shop managers wanting to out shoppers who do not give them positive reviews. (PJ ought to STOP this nonsense and stop firing shoppers who are honest and do their job by reporting subpar pizzas and service - but they DONT- they just fire shoppers who are outted by store managers.) I have also received garlic cups turned UPSIDE DOWN. Do I turn it right side up? Yes I do. Store managers want to try and "out" me? Two can play at that game...........
My only PJ's experience was about 4 years ago. After flipping over the pizza slices, labeling the piks, getting that side view, standing over the pizza I was finally able to sample a slice and it was ....just horrible. The little pepper and garlic sauce did nothing to help the taste of that cardboard. Finally threw the rest away, then my shop was rejected. Never again.
I used to be a mystery shopper for Papa John's before NSS closed up. Can you tell me how to get on a mystery shop with Papa John's again? I'll be happy to get you a referral fee if there is one.
