Texas Roadhouse

In the past I have done several of the bar shops. Yesterday I did the other option in the dining room with the higher reimbursement. I found the report to require more lengthy narratives. The bar shop only wanted an explanation for no’s. Have the bar shops changed as well or is this just true for the dining room shops?

I did a bar shop last month and report was still simple, only explaining no's. Good to know about the dining shop, I was going back and forth with grabbing one and decided against it
The bar shops are still easy, I just did one about a week ago. Never did like the DR shops and haven't done one for years. Not worth the extra $10.
I would love to do a Texas Roadhouse. They must not use the dozen MSCs I've signed up with, or they're not shopping in my area.
Try companies that have the first letter of their name in the last half of the alphabet (listed on this site). It's not one of those that is in the 15 most discussed companies, though they have been discussed more than a couple of times. Also, consider that most seasoned shoppers have signed up with 100 or more companies to get where they are now, and you should do the same.
Funny, I was just saying to my husband today that I need to find and sign up with the company that does Texas Roadhouse!

If you haven't found Texas Roadhouse you simply are not signed up with enough MSCs. It's a pretty big company.

Yeah, they have a lot of other shops that I am not fond of.
I think some of their shops get a bad rap when they shouldn't necessarily.

I agree with others on the dining room shops requiring more... I do them occasionally but it’s very occasional.... I love the bar shops and they are super easy compared to the dining room shops.
I was referring to the coupon app shops in particular. They don't reimburse fully. That sucks.

I assumed that's what you were referring to. Some of them have reimbursed fully. Others have been spectacularly good deals. Good enough to make a purchase you weren't otherwise going to make.

The reimbursed fully shops sailed a few years ago from what I can tell.
There is a current one that reimburses $20. The coupon gives you $20% off of a single item at a "plus size" women's store. I dunno maybe the place is expense (I am neither a plus size or a woman so not familiar) but I can't imagine one couldn't find SOMETHING for $25 in there.

Last week there was one that reimbursed $7 (?) and the coupon was good for $2 off any product at a large beauty supply chain. That's a free or almost free bottle of shampoo.

There was also one that reimbursed $30 at a large electronics retailer. The coupon was 15% off any item over $100 from their ad and they bonused that an extra $10 late in the week. Add in the 5% discount by buying a gift card off Raise and you just bought a $100 item for $50. I'm a nerd, if I had been near one of those stores I would have taken that one in a heartbeat.

A few weeks ago there was one that reimbursed $20 and the coupon was 20% off any item at a popular clothing chain. Another one I would have taken if I could have. Unfortunately the shops didn't last until my outlet mall route that literally had 1 of those stores in every mall I went to.

Try searching for steakhouse and steak house to see if you can find the MSC referenced in those threads.
That would be a free bottle of shampoo in 1993grinning smiley

That's probably the last time I had to buy shampoo.

Yes, the dining shop has alot of details required for the shop. I took my two adult kids for dinner for belated valentines. Didn't order any alcoholic beverages, no appetizers, or dessert, just sodas, lemonades and 3 main entrees. Reimbursement $35, Out of pocket cost $21 that included 15% tip. Totally worth it. Got lucky with an attentive and friendly server.
I think I just found and signed up with them. I was pretty sure I'd already signed up with this MSC, but that was years ago and I never did anything for them. So I probably just got deactivated.

My husband got the Chicken Portobello Mushroom dish with a side of mashed potatoes and RAVED about his meal.
To each their own, griff. I get the emails, I open, read, and delete. I haven't seen one that I liked in a long time (several years), which is when it fully reimbursed the purchase.
I took my wife a couple of years ago. With 2 dinners, and a appetizer, and two non alcoholic drinks and tip we did not go over.

I would like to do another dine in shop but it requires two people, and most of the time we are not free at the same time.
Do the bar shop, Isaiah. You can go alone.
For those who still don't know which MSC it is, you can do what someone told me to do when I wondered out loud on here. Just Google "Mystery Shop Texas Roadhouse". It comes right up with the information. You're welcome unless you shop in my area smiling smiley.

By the way, I love both types of shops. Sure the bar shop is easier, but I like eating here so much, I'm more than willing to do the dining room shop too.

I shop Texas Road House dining room once a month. We both get steak, bk Potato, salad, and each a 22oz.cold Coors beer. I find the report easy. Most of our meals came in the range of $35-$40 including tip. Wednesday nights have specials. Coors is their tap beer.
There are both DR and bar shops open in my area now, but I'm not really comfortable eating at a bar by myself, and I doubt that my son or my husband would want to accompany me on that kind of shop. But I'm thinking of trying a DR shop. It can't be any worse than BWW, can it, with all those timings? I'd rather write pages of narrative than time every single event. (Yeah; I know. I'm weird.) We do Hoss's Steakhouse, which is pretty easy, and Golden Corral, which is somewhat easy but very, very long; if Texas Roadhouse is about the same as those, I think it would be OK.

Birdy, there are just a few timings on the dining room shops, a lot less than BWW. I never thought that I would be comfortable sitting alone on a bar shop, but there was a discussion here about 6 months ago that got me thinking I should try one. It was bonused and I went for it. There are no timings and the report is a lot easier than the dining room report. I stepped out of my comfort zone and I'm glad I did.
The bar visit is super simple and there is very little narrative. I do it whenever my husband is out of town working, and sometimes we will do one together (but I always go over by about $10 when he goes with me). I highly recommend it over the DR shop. You don't have to make a phone call for the bar shop.
Good to know that the bar shops are easier than the dining room shops. I did my first DR shop last night. While the report was straight forward, it took me longer than I thought it would because of the narratives. The report requires summary type narratives as well as commenting on no answers.
