Okay to return items?

I have a shop coming up in a few weeks where I need to buy cowboy boots, no fee just a full reimbursement for the purchased product. Even though I live in Austin and grew up in the sticks, none of my family or friends wear boots. So would it be okay to return the boots several days after and keep the refund as my "fee"? I read over the guidelines twice, and I don't see anything in there saying you can't return them.

I would contact the scheduler for the answer. Since it is full reimbursement, my guess is no returns.

If the scheduler says no, you can probably sell them on-line to get most of it back.

There are 3 kinds of lies. Lies, Damn lies, and statistics.
It is generally frowned upon to to this - retailers can track receipts and some MSC's will deactivate you.... However, selling them through a private sale would be perfectly acceptable.

Thanks for the replies. I'll go deeper into family and surely I can find someone who wants some really nice boots. My sister has gotten quite a few "gifts" the last several months for shops where I had no use for the products myself.
I don't understand why you would be interested in a reimbursement only shop when you didn't want the reimbursed item.

I don't either. Those type shops and coupon shops are for something you need or really want.

Because usually I can find a family member pretty easily who wants or needs the item. In this instance, I saw the show late at night, knew they'd be gone by morning if I didn't take one, and then contact family and friends this morning.

Dude - no need to explain.

Why you choose the shops you do is no one's business. As they say in Texas, whatever greases your wagon.
Boots are, or used to be, really popular on eBay (I've sold some at jaw-dropping prices!). If they're a popular brand, might be worth a try if you end up not knowing anyone who needs them..

I never said he shouldn't do the shop. I simply stated I didn't understand why he would want to. I agree if the shop fits his goals then he should do it.

Occasionally one may opt to do a reimbursement shop for an MSC as a loss leader. I did that to get my foot in the door with one particular MSC known for reimbursement only shops. Now every shop I do for them is bonused. Once a scheduler begged me to do a phone shop for a crappy $5. After explaining that I don't do phone shops for any price, I agreed to do it for her as a favor. The bonuses she offered the following month on other shops were higher than that she had typically offered before.

I never said you did.
