Did a shop at a large retailer this week. Made a purchase and had to do a return of the $130 item. It was an extremely windy day and, to my great chagrin, the receipt blew out of the car when I opened the door to retrieve the return item. I charged across the parking lot with the receipt blowing 25. Ft. ahead of me until it rounded the building's corner. Upon reaching the other side, I could see the slip nowhere in sight. The store is perched way up on a man-made rock mountain but, peering over the edge of the lot, I espied the receipt caught in a bush about 15 ft down the slope. I jumped the guard rail and managed to snap it up before it could again take flight. Moral of the story: hold onto those papers like your life depends on it.
Then there was the time I ironed out a creased receipt and the whole thing turned black...to be avoided!
