PM messages looking for mystery shppoing companies

I know this is a regular gripe, but I've gotten multiple PM messages lately asking me to reveal MSC's for different clients. I don't reply. This last one stated they were in a different state so they wouldn't be a competitor. . I don't care if you compete or not. All the other shoppers in your state doing the same client did the hard work.

Also, there are several forum members that re actually representatives of MSCs. Are you all trying to test me? I doubt it, but who knows. That is not a chance I am willing to take. Even though I do this part time, I still like it and won't violate a contractual agreement for some anonymous online poster. Stop it.

Literally same.

I am not referring some random person for any special projects that I do.

That sounds very flirty.

PaulinMI, in my opinion, the easiest and best way is to ignore.

That's what I do @Mert, I just thought some public shaming may discourage others to try. Maybe we should start a thread posting members who try such tactics. For now, I'm discounting it to bad judgement.

I reply back sometimes, but I tell them NO.

Ignore or say NO and explain why. Some shoppers have never been told the message behind the ICA. We are here to help with that, as well as with other things.

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.

I agree that it's nice to tell shoppers who post with questions like this about the ICA. But I'm betting the ones who are PM'ing know about the ICA and that's why they are PM'ing instead of asking in open forum. I usually ignore them, too, but there is one who is currently PM'ing who is begging for a public "KNOCK IT OFF!"
I must come across as less friendly than the rest of you. I get maybe 2 of them a year.

While we're talking about this.... I heard that there are a ton of Jack-in-the-Box shops out there. If you all would point me to the MSC, I might try to put together a route this weekend. I bet I could do 40 on Sunday....

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
I'm in another MSing group and was fortunate enough to meet another shopper there who literally lives in my neighborhood. We've shared with each other the types of shops we like to do and the ones we would not do again. If I see something that I don't want and I know she might like it, I tip her off so she can go look at it...and she does the seem for me. For example, I might send her a message....hey girl, Company X has a hair cutting shop...this doesn't violate anything and is cooperative. There is a bit of learning curve coming into all of this and yes, leg work, time and research are required of us all... the demographics of the other group skews toward newer shoppers and fewer elder statesmen, so it comes across as more collaborative and less competitive. Volunteers in the group draft tips and templates, etc. Still, one can learn a lot here from reading - more than posting, lol - it's almost like going to watch hockey, there is no break until there's a bit of blood on the ice lol.

I am not into public shaming, there is enough of that with some MSCs. Ignore the PMs, I promise I won't bug you any longer. winking smiley

Barefoot, I like your style. As a mystery shopper, sometimes it feels like the deck is stacked against you. It sounds like you've created a neat support system that benefits everyone. Good for you.

Agree with above 2 post, i recieve many emails from schedulers stating if "you or someone you know can do this" referrel fee, prize raffle, etc offered. Are you saying all these MSC are asking their shoppers to break their ICA?
Want985, it's not breaking the ICA if you don't name the client. It's like Barefoot Bliss wrote about "Company X has a hair cutting shop" to another shopper in her area. If you know that there is a fast food shop, restaurant, etc. that you can't do, you can let your friend know the name of the company who is offering that type of shop that you either aren't interested in or don't have time to do, or maybe you have reached your limit for the quarter on that location...
