Valet Question

Hello, I have a quick question about parking lot/valet jobs that I am contemplating taking. In the description it says that I need to pay in cash and have the cashier sign the receipt. I'm sure there are good reasons to have a cashier sign a receipt, but I'm wondering what reason that you give to the cashier when you ask him/her to sign it? I still starting out and learn so much from all of you here and know that many of you wise shoppers will have good guidance for me. thanks!

There are 2 different types of receipts with parking facilities. Firstly one that is manually given by the cashier/attendant/valet. This on is handwritten has a place for a signature. Secondly one that is given my a computer, called revenue control equipment. I have never heard of nor is there a place on this kind of receipt for a signature. Good luck
This makes much more sense! I was imagining one of those booths where I pay and the arms lifts. Could not imagine asking the person working in there to sign my receipt. The basic info that is given is usually just enough to leave me with lots of questions and afraid to click "apply" until I figure it all out. I may give one of these a shot since the one I'm considering is just valet park at a hospital for an hour or two. They will pay me for food, so I'll just sit in the cafeteria and read a book for an hour! Thanks!
I would feel so awkward asking for a signature. Thankful the company that I do parking shops for understands how this could be a HUGE red flag that you are a shopper and does not require a signature.
What MSC or client (please do not name both) wants a signed receipt from a valet parking shop? That looks like shouting, "I am your mystery shopper."

Hope I'm OK saying the name, but it's Intellishop. In the notes it says: "New: receipt must be signed by cashier. " Just not sure how that's going to work, though if the scenario above is correct and there is a spot for the valet to sign, then it should not be too odd! But never having done one of these before, I"m a bit apprehensive!
No way would I do that shop.... just use a Sharpie and write Mystery Shopper on your forehead....
I know exactly which shops these are. Yeah, they look awful. The client wants weird times and had some very weird requirements for what they want you to do.

ACL requires a receipt. If the valet uses the back of a ticket to scribble the amount, the valet will generally initial it if not sign in full. If not, I do not ask the valet to sign. If it's a computer generated receipt then no signature is required.

Wanting a receipt and requiring a signature on it are entirely different, as in "quantum leap." I do 20-40 valet parking shops per month and would never do one with that requirement. Also, several clients have decided to direct that we NOT ask for a receipt because:
a. The valets were IDing the shoppers due to being cash customers who require a receipt, and
b. the client can verify the visit by checking the ticket number.

Whenever I need a receipt I always say - I have to have a receipt to expense it. Every little bit helps. - I would say I needed it signed to expense it. - I have never had push back. I have traveled for business alot and always ask for a receipt for every penny spent.
It is not that they would "push back," but the combo of cash and needing a receipt for business makes you memorable.

Thanks for all of your advice. I think I'll skip this one for now!

I wouldn't do this shop because it would make me uncomfortable. And I don't do shops that make me uncomfortable. Why when there are literally more shops that I like than I have time to do. But for being memorable or them knowing I'm the shopper? Who cares? That's on the MSC and client for making it so obvious.
