terrible sale consultant- car shop

It was so bad- I had to share somewhere. He never asked any questions to determine my needs, he told me I was test driving a luxury package current year model, but after the test drive, I read the sticker and it was last year's base model. He kept trying to bully me into test driving a different make and model car and to top it off, he refused to talk cost and finances with me until my spouse came in. That report took so long to write!

Well on the brighter side, now you’re not the only person who knows he’s a jerk. Maybe he will get re-trained?
How well I remember the new car sales agent who said, "If you husband comes with you we can talk about the engine and drive train. What color would you prefer?" Got that all on audio and video.

Based in MD, near DC
Shopping from the Carolinas to New York
Have video cam; will travel

Poor customer service? Don't get mad; get video.

Nowadays, you can say that your wife is busy and just look offended.
I know the kind. One time, a sales guy won't let me leave without a test drive. He said he would lose his job if I didn't take it. He didn't explain anything about the car. And, there was a sales call last year where I had to ask for the best price on a luxury brand. The salesperson blatantly refused and said "Oh, I know that dance too well. I don't dance that way. You come here and get the price."
The car sales jobs are so annoying. They pay okay, but I was left waiting 25 minutes to have a test car brought around. It took so long because he had it washed before he brought it up. Then they constantly call you afterward to see if you made up your mind yet. I will keep doing them every so often but not a ton of them.
I'll never forget one of my first car sales shops when I went to take the test drive and the salesman sat in the passenger seat and said absolutely NOTHING about anything. He didn't even direct me about where we should drive or for how long. I started thinking that I could keep going until we ran out of gas before he said anything. I was the one who finally decided it was time to head back to the dealership. I decided that a salesman from a rival dealership could have done a better selling job on that vehicle. It was pretty sad really.

There are 3 kinds of lies. Lies, Damn lies, and statistics.
Haha, I see that I not alone in my experiences. The shop was bonuses, so it was still worth it. And, yes, I am glad that I had some recourse in reporting his behavior.
Not a shop but I had a young salesman tell me I didn't want a specific car because it had a standard transmission so I probably couldn't drive it. What I wanted to say was, "Son, I was driving dump trucks before you were born." What I did say was, "We're done here." You just can't fix stupid.

Some people just have no clue. I have had a few experiences where all the sales person wanted to find out from me was what color I wanted. Like that was the only possible choice I was concerned about. Don't you love being talked to like you're a precious flower who doesn't know anything about cars except MAYBE how to drive them? I've even had this from saleswomen. It's ridiculous.

I'm getting invited to do car shops for $20 after doing a bunch for $60 in the fall. The new MSC must think I'm CRAZY. They're hard work!
Or how about BestMark getting a certain client and putting out the shop for $14?? Lmao. I might do it just for the laugh of having the same terrible salesman for the fiftieth time in a row.
Their car shops are soooo not worth doing for that price. What about their electronic store shops where you have to interact with 2 people for the same price as the car shop ?
