Can I shop in the USA?

Hi all,
I'm a Canadian citizen and I'll be going south to the warmth this winter. My question is do you know if I can do shops while I'm in the USA? I'd love to have the opportunity but would it be legal? Thanks for your help!

Interesting question. It is one that you should probably best address to the companies you are currently signed up with. I know that one company has a specific Cross Borders policy which states that unless you have Dual Citizenship and/or valid Working Visa on file with them you are not allowed to shop in the other country. Proof needs to be submitted to them in writing before they will approve you for shops outside your home country.
It probably depends on each MSC, but I did airport shops for a company while traveling in Canada. The shops were inside the Canadian airport, so it was still Canadian soil. I don't know how they look at the issue.
I would ask.
Short answer is yes for most shops.

US companies have a right to hire ICs from outside of the US.

The MSC I used to work for had plenty of Canadians who travelled to the US for hotel shops. You will get paid in US funds, which may or may not be a blessing, depending on the exchange rate that day.
Depends on the company. As a Canadian, one of the MSCs I shop for didn't have a problem with me completing a shop when I was visiting D.C. earlier this year. On the other hand, another MSC I work for explicitly says that you cannot shop in the U.S. unless you're a dual citizen.
