Yikes, Faxing

I signed up with an MSC that requires faxed receipts. I haven't sent anything by fax in years and never see it used any longer....so how does that work now in a mobile society where many of us are no longer working in a physical office with a fax machine? Do you scan the receipt, then use some kind of software to email it to a fax number? tips appreciated for this digital nomad. Thank you.

If you can scan your receipts/paperwork into your computer as either a DOC, DOCX, or PDF file, there is a FREE software fax program that I have been using for years. It's very, very basic and EASY to use. Sometimes I still have to fax something in that's not related to mystery shopping, and it has come in very handy. I use faxzero.com, too, when I have to fax something to somebody who, for example, doesn't have a work e-mail address that can be used by the public. I've never run across having to do this in mystery shopping, but some government agencies still require faxed documents.

Highly recommend this. It's free for up to three pages, and I think it's something like $1.99 if you want to fax more pages, priority delivery, and/or want to remove the faxzero branding.

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

Yes, thanks for mentioning the limit on the # of pages you can fax for free. You can also type in a note that sort of acts as a cover sheet if you need to, for additional explanation...I have done that on occasion. Also, you can use the service for free up to 5 times/day. Otherwise, as Birdy has mentioned, there are fees for adding more pages. But it's a very reliable service.

For $1.99, you can get rid of the ads. I think that's a good deal, myself!

I didn't know any company wanted a fax. Forget it! I like Scan, Save and send.

Boy, I can remember when we had to fax EVERYTHING, LOL!!!! Or copy it and mail it in!

FAX is so 1990s. I don't do business with anyone who requires a fax. A pdf sent by email is much faster and clearer and easier to read.

Library still has those dusty things lol; they have up to date scanners with fax or email capability.
