Welcome to the forum. If you are in Hawaii, there are wonderful shops available there. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "list of mystery shopping companies". If you sign up for the 15 most-talked-about (very top of the list), you'll find some companies with shops in your area. Good luck!

Also, do a LOT of reading in the "new shoppers" area. Loads of information there.

There are plenty of shops in Florida (I don't live there but I know that they have plenty). I would start with Marketforce to sign up with (they are on the list that Ceasesmith mentioned). They have shops all over the US and the reports are easy. They are great for a beginner shopper...hey I still do shops for them! After you get used to the way MSing works, start signing up with more companies.

Feel free to send me a PM. I will send you a list of good companies.
Hey Missmande, different companies shop different clients in different regions, so it's hard for another shopper to make good company recommendations unless they live in your area and know which MSCs have shops in your city. I could make all kinds of recommendations about companies I like that would have no value to you since they don't have shops in your city. OTOH, there are companies in your area that don't have shops in mine. There is a job board on this site that's quite helpful, and aggregate sites like jobslinger are very helpful in finding what you are looking for. Good luck to you and happy shopping!
No invitation needed but use the advice about signing up with several companies at first and then slowly adding more as you get going. MF, yes a great one to start with...easy shops to do and you can start to see patterns. But a good msc for one person is not necessarily a good one for others. It all depends on what is available where you live and what your goals are in mystery shopping...that might be for income for some, for reimbursed items for others and a range of other reasons people shop. Some of us enjoy narratives, others of us not so much so as you go along you will find which shops and which companies fit your style. When you are considering a company to work for you can use the search to see what others have to say. Just be aware that it is common for people to go to a forum to complain so read through threads where people are complaining before taking the first post at face value. It might just be a one off experience in that company.
With that list included is a way to search for shops in your area. Not all shoppers know this. You can literally spend hours applying for MSC’s only to find out they have few or no shops in your area.
Jeffpeds1, if you use search yourself you will find past threads where forum members contributed lists of their good companies. Not every one participated as some have the need to protect their livelihood and their territory. But in the past many have just come forward and said I like companies A, B and C right here on a thread in the forum that everyone can see. So I am curious as to why you are hiding your list. I would be curious to know who you shop for and why you like them. I know there is another thread where you felt attacked but using these hiding tactics will not change the way people think. Show us all your list (put your money where your mouth is so to speak and do something to help forum members as you claim you want to do) and maybe, just maybe the forum members will make nice. And I would like to know for my own self what your trick is to find shops nearby....I would love to find a quick and approved way to find more companies with great jobs in Los Angeles. Rarely are they listed on the job board on this forum.
Sandy...giving you a chance!

I just typed "Orlando, FL" into the search on PrestoInstaMaps and they show hundreds -- literally hundreds -- of shops within a 25 mile radius of Orlando.

Just a note to all you youngsters: I have it on my PC. I have never managed to find anything on it on my iPhone, mostly because I don't know how to use my iPhone

Tech challenged dinosaur here.......

Exactly. Now here we have someone actually willing to help. Your tip using a PC is outstanding. iPhone although a wonderful tool is not the optimum device for search.

Hey everyone,

I really think that all the misunderstanding was simply due to text not being a good conveyor of emotion. I dont think anyone initially meant anything mean spirited or rude although some posts appear to be taken that way. Then it just degenerated down.

Take a step back. I think this doesn't' need to be a problem. sad smiley

Jrosetti, if you look throuh jeffpeds history, many of his posts have been deleted by the mods. He is known for having a negative outlook and tends to get overly defensive and accusatory, often for no reason.
I never had anything removed. I can't do that, as I am not a moderator. The mods didn't approve of many of things you posted and deleted your posts. And that was going on well before the thread of which you are referring to. I don't have any followers, either, wow and LOL! This forum is a nice, friendly place that does not need to be corrupted by accusations and negativity, so if you quit doing that, the mods will quit deleting your posts.

Oh my Jeffpeds1, I was actually trying to be nice. I never said a mean word to you, however, in case you have not guessed yet, I am old and I gather from your other thread you don't think old people are good for much. I still have not seen your list. So where is the helping hand you so often talk of? I gave you a chance and instead of sending a post that is helpful to others you just lashed out. Perhaps it is time you change into Jeffadults1.

Trying to be nice? Yet you just had to take a personal shot at me while being nice. Just as you did once again in this post. Boy if you’re being nice, I would hate to see you being mean to someone.

If I'm being fair I have some pretty heated comments in my own history as well and even got suspended once after getting pissed at people lying about my companies jobs at the time. We are all human and can all change.

What I know for sure is that most people tend to read things in their own voice. So for me I'm almost always reading in an optimistic or high energy voice, but if im pissed off or angry I'll read the exact same message in a completely different tone. If youre always reading things in a combative voice maybe look within once and a while. I did and was a little surprised.

What this usually means when reading someone elses post whom I do not know personally is that I'm not reading it in the tone of voice they meant to convey it in. Then this leads into a bunch of other problems with me assuming a certain tone or meaning and was way way off.

anyway. I'm done preaching. Let's cut to the chase. I'll donate $5 to doctors without borders if the two of you stop being dicks to one another in this thread. I'll post screenshots too.

I used to wade into all the drama. ALL the drama. It's not worth it. Don't be like younger me. Your argument isn't worth more than the lives that the doctors can save with my donation right? Do it for...the children winking smiley

It doesn't matter who started it. I dont give a @#$%&. We have a new shopper in this thread and this isn't a great first impression for them to the page. Let's genuinely try to be better.
