It is like Shadow Shopper, I can never decide if they really could get the higher paying jobs for me, I know that Kern and Jobslinger tend to have high end work. So which ones really are worth the cash?

I can tell you that for me, personally, it led to a full time job.

My first shop was a pizza mutilation shop. A friend of mine told me that she would get $5 if she referred someone who did one, so I did it. It's amazing that I stayed in the business! My second shop was a nice steak dinner for two, so that got me more interested. I had a full time career in marketing at the time. My husband and I worked for the same company, and started picking up mystery shops that would give us free lunches and odds and ends on the way home from work. The fees started adding up and helped us save for a downpayment on a house.

I heard that a gold workshop was coming to a town a few hours away, and decided that it sure wouldn't hurt anything to do it. The cost is also a tax deduction. I did see more offers once I went gold - and I can tell you now from "the other side" that many offers do get posted to gold shoppers before they are released to the whole shopper population.

A couple of years after attending the workshop, I got an email from KSS (that went to gold shoppers) saying they were looking for schedulers and I applied for the job. Now I work full time from home as a scheduler. It has been a really positive influence on my family life, since I'm home with my daughters every day after school, as opposed to rushing home after work to get them from daycare, slap something on the table and get their baths before bedtime.

So, that's my testimonial. Gold was great for me.

Oh, Judith, I have tears running down my face. When I signed up for the pizza mutilation shop, I did it for four of them; I will never eat another pizza.

And since doing what you do is EXACTLY what I am looking for, I am on my way to sign up. You made an argument I couldn't refuse. I have to mend a few bridges at Kern, from the first time I was hospitalized and didn't know how to notify my schedulers, but I'll get there.

I just ordered it, so here is the scoop. It is $104, and they have mechanisms in place so one cannot share. You get the disks, and have three opportunities to take the test.... that shouldn't be a problem for anyone with a printer (you can take it open book, get it?) I assume it is not multiple choice, since it is not computer graded. All this information is spit out AFTER you pay, so be aware.

Judith, you make a encourging statement, so well written on why to get Gold. I have been a big believer of getting silver, working awhile, and then getting Gold. Could never understand why someone wouldn't. I do believe Gold opens doors that would stay shut. I'm ordering my CD today. I wanted to go to a workshop for the networking aspect, however, this is easier and quicker.

I just applied for a job and was asked to give my certification #. Doesn't that prove you need silver or gold to get decent jobs...of course, the others keep coming, but, at least this one is &35.00. This proves you need certification to climb up the ladder. I went online to buy the Gold CD, and the site is not open. Anyone have the same problem.

I believe they were having some problems with msp sites not recognising and being able to verify the new cert. #s, and they've been having to do some system changes. That may be part of the problem with the mspa site.

I ordered mine, and it shipped today. Maybe it is part of the test; perseverance!

Finally ordered the Gold CD, site was o.k. later in the evening. Hope test isn't too confusing. Perseverance, I've plenty of that....never give up the ship. Excited about getting Gold, let's cerebrate!! Meet everyone in Vegas for a group hug..and a drink. Let's go to Vegas the end of April.

At the workshop, we got a workbook. We went over it there, and the test was directly from that. Does it come with a book?

I'll find out tomorrow. For the money it should.

I just took and passed the Gold DVD test. If you pay attention, it's not hard. Mostly common sense. I am really glad I did it. Not becuase I am suddenly getting tons of jobs but becuase it gave me the tools for which to get better jobs. I learned some valuable things. I think it was worth it.

I'm glad to hear that....of course it's worth it, learning is always better than not learning. I will be getting my CD either today or tomorrow...can't wait to take the test and pass. LOL

I didnt thing that I was interested in gold until now. This post has totally changed my mind. However, I am to broke to afford it. But when I can I certainly will.

Get your silver first, only 15 bucks, and worth it. I have waited 8 months after getting my silver, doing jobs and getting my skills up. Now I feel ready for the Gold and everything it brings with it....hoping that's Hotels, Casinos and interesting different stuff.

They hired an excellent packaging company; no jeweled tone cases and typed pages here. The workbook is probably the same as the one one uses in the workshop, and the program is on two DVD's. We should be reminded that this is fore and farmost a business.... but if the Shopping companies see it as worthwhile, we are wise to do it.

The DVD's say prominently "Sponsored by Intellishop and Pros". If you work for those two companies, as I do, you are more behooven to do it.

And, for the price of admission, one gets a nifty bookmark for the workbook.

Now that we know the facts.....

I do alot of work for IntelliShop, so there's another reason. I know they push getting certified. Gonna go check my mail. Computer is less trouble than a date with a two legged mystery man. Talk about problems and scheduling.
