Five Guys' shops all gone for July?

I'm going to be in a town tomorrow where there's almost always a Five Guys' shop to be done, and I was hoping to find a lunch shop. They have a hard time filling shops at this location. Anyway, I logged in, and there are ZERO Five Guys' shops showing in my area! That's never happened before. So, either every single one in a 30-mile radius has been filled for July, they've been cancelled, or for some reason, these shops are not showing up for me.

Anybody else not seeing them? Or is there news I haven't heard? winking smiley

20 left on my 20 mile radius board for July, 3 times that left for August.

I'm pretty sure I haven't reached my limit for this current cycle, so I should see them.

Does this MSC ever block shoppers from certain jobs? They might be mad at me because I haven't responded to their requests over the last few weeks! I have to cut down on my fast-food intake for health reasons, so I haven't been doing as many. But I've never known them to take offense or block me from seeing them. Maybe there's just a very hungry shopper in my area these days?

I see over 30 Five Guys listed -- none of them highly bonused. Almost all at the $6 rate.
I notice that one day all the shops for a company will be on my board and the next day they will be gone. Then, 3 or 4 days later they will appear again with the exact same dates, or sometimes dates further into the month. I don't really understand why they take them away and put them back.
I think I read on the MSC's website (or somewhere!) that new shops get posted the 25th of the month, so maybe they'll pop up tomorrow. Or did I dream that?

BirdyC, yes, it's been my experience that the MSC blocks a specific location, or all locations of a client. Maybe for one period, many, or all, with no communication to the shopper. One way to find out what's what is to get a shopper friend from another area to search your zip code from their job board.
Well, I just tried the zip code of an area where I'll be traveling to soon, and no Five Guys showed up. It would seem I'm blocked from just those shops. I've been doing them fairly regularly, but not nearly as often as I used to.

I wish they would just leave messages if I don't pick up the phone. They used to, but not anymore! I don't usually have my cell phone right on my desk, so my calls go to voice mail. Or I get a call from them when I'm in my car driving 70 mph. I don't talk on my phone and drive at the same time. And they don't call my land line, which is my preferred contact number. I can see that they've called by viewing my call log, but without a voice mail, I don't know what shop they're calling about or where.

I could at least call them back if they left a VM and either take the shop or politely decline. But with no idea of what they were calling about, I'm not calling them back....

Yeah. But, logging in with your ID and searching different zips will not necessarily reveal the same shops as someone else's log in, if your ID has been blocked.

That's how I figure I've been blocked, though. I have my own radius set to 50 miles, and I just checked a couple of zip codes where I know there are Five Guys' shops normally available. Nothing anywhere, and I'm positive these areas must have open shops.

@BirdyC, I doubt the reason is that you are not answering your calls. I maybe answer 1 out of 15 times they call me and it seems they call me almost every other day, sometimes multiple times a day. I also "flaked" on a bonus shop last month (actually did the shop, but did not get the report in on time, so it was cancelled). Something else must have happened. Maybe you were outed. Why not just email the help desk and ask?

I also don’t think it’s a calling issue..I have never answered one of their calls because they always call me Monday-Friday when I’m at work 7am-4pm. I can’t answer their calls at work so they are ignored. I still see a ton of Five Guys shops on the board for July and August.. I would write into the help desk they should be able to clarify.
I did write to the help desk when I realized not one shop was showing in any area I checked. I doubt I was outed, but you never know.... I gave one location a very bad report a couple of months ago (well deserved, too), but was able to shop the same location just a few weeks later. If I were going to be outed, it would probably have been on that shop, since I stood around waiting for my burger for nearly 20 minutes.

Well, we'll see what, if anything, they say. If I'm blocked, it will be good for my health!

Well, it seems as if I've reached whatever their secret limit is on shops, and not due to anything negative on my part. I received a professional and prompt response from the help desk, letting me know I'm only temporarily blocked from these shops. When I followed up asking for more information (saying I knew they couldn't give me specifics, but could they give me a general idea of the issue). they gave me as specific an answer as I could have hoped for.

It might make sense, too. At one point, I was shopping four or five locations regularly, so the intervals at each location were fairly long. Two of the locations nearest me closed, and I no longer travel to the area where the other one is. So I'm just shopping two locations now. It could be that they felt my shops at each one were becoming too close together; one of the reasons stated for a temporary suspension was ensuring that the identity of the shopper is protected.

Then again, who knows? It might not make sense....

Thanks for sharing! I do one every month that is nearest to me and then a few other locations from time to time... I never really thought of them limiting I guess just because I have done the one location every month for a long time... hopefully they will come back soon for you!!
This happens to me just about every month. There are three locations near me and since I've already done two of them this month, I can only see one remaining one right now. Soon enough I will see all three of them again. Like I said, it happens often. It seems like they will only allow one shop per month at each location.
Birdy,

This has happened to me before, for me it was six months, then I could see them again. I think another time, I wasn't able to see certain shops for one year, but they came back and I just shopped less often.
I did one location twice within about 3 weeks, so maybe they felt that was too close together.

If your concerned about having the 5 Guys food, order your burger in a bowl. This takes 300 calories off the table ! Also, you don't need to eat ALL the fries, just sample. I sometimes look around to find a table with young kids and ask the parent if they'd mind if I shook a few fries out and gave them the rest since 5Guys gives me more than I want. They have always accepted with big smiles on everyone's face!!
Once, when I sat to wait for my burger I noticed a homeless man enjoying the air conditioning since it was 98 degrees outside. He purchased a pop so he could legally sit inside. I asked for a second "bowl" and I split my burger in a bowl with him and gave him all my fries..minus a few for sampling. His eyes were soo BIG and he was grateful for a meal.

I do probably 7 to 10 shops a month and am losing weight. Look for the carbs and don't order that. Burger in a bowl with bacon and trimmings only has around 3 carbs for it ALL!!
I was blocked for over a year. I contacted them and they removed the block. Now I have the shops sit there until they call me and offer a bonus. So one year off and no shops and I have made all that lost money up plus more since I ask for double pay or more. Haaa....

I always get my burger (a single, no cheese, no bacon) in a bowl, never in a bun. And I never eat all the fries. If I'm by myself, I order a regular, eat several (probably more than I should, but they're so good!), and take the rest home to my family. I've also ordered the veggie sandwich (without cheese) at times, which is pretty healthy (when people have cheese on every single sandwich they eat, those calories pile on!).

So I'm doing the "right" things -- as far as anyone can do healthy things on a fast-food shop -- but even though I wasn't gaining weight when I was going a lot of Five Guys' shops, my cholesterol went way up. When I cut back on them, it went down. High cholesterol runs in my family, so even though food intake accounts for a smaller proportion of total cholesterol than does heredity, eating at Five Guys doesn't help -- LOL. It's not a matter of me not knowing about nutrition.... smiling smiley

Sometimes, when they are calling and emailing shoppers they remove the postings. In my area, DC Metro, one shop is left on the bords for July. They have been very aggressive filling them since the middle of the month
