Editors can be really stupid

When I write in the narrative comments box that the cashier mentioned the total price without suggesting anything specific, but did ask afterwards if I needed anything else - the editor sends me an e-mail asking me to update the narrative to include comments for Q6: which is "Did the employee suggest any additional products?" I think I am getting the same editor over and over for these shops, because he/she keeps asking me to update my narratives with information I already included. The e-mail nor the address it comes from mentions who the editor is. I love these shops but I would love to be able to block out certain editors from my work.

Did you answer the question yes or no? If yes, you have a point. If no, the narrative and response are contradictory.

I certainly answer the questions according to the response in the narrative. It's not just one question or one time. This has been happening a lot lately with this company.
Well, you didn't directly answer my question. The editors may have a point.

Narratives have to be in the correct spot. Even if you answered the question in an earlier narrative, you still need to enter it again if another narrative requires it. These narratives get coded, meaning someone reads each response to Q6 and categorizes the responses with numbers. That coder is only working with one question at a time and working through a file of hundred of shops. In other words, they can’t see how you answered a different question. Part of the editor’s job is to make sure the questionnaire can be coded. When they tell you the same thing over and over, it means that’s how they want it done.
Troy, yes they're in the right spot. Paulin... What I mean is that if I answered no, then my narrative supports that answer. If I answer yes, then my narrative supports that answer. I can't say I answered either yes or no because I'm referring to multiple occasions.
Pretty sure I've had that same editor recently. Usually I just change a few words to make it even more clear what I meant and move on. There was one time where the editor just kept sending me the same edits like then never looked at what I had done so I went through and put the question number in parenthesis next to the statement. Didn't hear back from the editor after that.
This may be similar to the time when I included the required observations and answered the required questions in the narrative, in the right section, but not in exactly the order as in the instructions. I wrote the narrative chronologically and in a way that made sense within the context of how the shop progressed. I kept getting questions from the editor for answers I'd already given in the narrative. It was like she couldn't digest the information, which was all there, because it didn't follow the exact order as in the guidelines. It's frightening to think that someone who apparently has such difficulty with comprehension is evaluating our evaluations!

I learn something new every day, but not everyday!
I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.
My last ACL editor tried to do that to me with 3 questions I had answered "NO" or NA". I had saved a copy of my narrative (I often copy and paste the narratives and save them) and I emailed her the portions she requested, stating that the information was in the narrative. She still sent me feedback after the shop was released reminding me to include supporting comments for "NO" and "NA" questions! Sigh.
