Recommendations for a simple stopwatch?

I think this has been discussed before, but quite a long time ago. I'm looking for a digital stopwatch that doesn't have extraneous functions and that includes instructions that are accurate! I don't need time, date, alarms, etc. Just something that records cumulative time and intervals. The lap timer on my phone does this, but it's not possible, with a touchscreen, to hit the right "button" every time you need to start timing another interval, especially while fumbling around in my handbag.

I got a small-ish one from Amazon, but the instructions are not only convoluted, but wrong. (I found this with my digital watch, too.) I figured out some functions on my own, but this just has too many functions to be activated by too few buttons and too many pushes of said buttons. It's just not straightforward enough.

If anyone has, and likes, a pocket-sized stopwatch with just timing functions and is easy to use (including pushing the right buttons while it's in your pocket), I'd love to know the make and model. Thank you!

I've learned to never trust spell-check or my phone's auto-fill feature.

On your phone, download and pay a couple of dollars for Ultracron. It uses the volume buttons to do "lap" times, where it adds a time and keeps going, perfect for shopping. It even keeps a history if you need to go back and recheck for an editor.

So you just hit your volume button whenever you need to start a new timing? That sounds wonderful! I'll look into it; thanks!

Birdy,

Yes, and you can customize what buttons in the settings if you are more comfortable using the power button or something. I have been using this app over 10 years on shops and it never fails me. Make SURE TO SHUT OFF THE SOUND, or when you hit stop it will announce the time out loud. LOL Best 2.99 (I think) I ever spent.

I no longer use a watch for timings. My husband still occasionally uses his. He has a Timex, inexpensive from WalMart. Even has Indiglo!
