Portable Wand Scanner

Bouncing from the thread about taking pictures in lieu of scanning.....

It looks like a portable wand scanner can be had for about $115 on eBay "Buy it Now". It's hand held and will take scans of receipts and pictures, but wouldn't be big enough for an 8 1/2" x 11" page if you had to file a CPI print out for example.

I almost always have those documents printed out all ready and with me so the portable wand may be my next toy...er, I mean tool.

As I also stated there is a wand scanner in the Bed Bath and Beyond flyer for $99. It is made by vupoint but no other model info is given except it states no computer needed so I'm it has a built in storage. I'm going to check in out

Cool. Sorry, didn't see your post. The "geek" showed me it uses a small sd card for memory like my camera. Not sure it will plug into my netbook without an adaptor, but was going to get adaptor anyway because I have two different cameras and one uses a different type of card.

PS: I just got a Bed Bath and Beyond flyer with a $5.00 coupon on the back. lol

I had one of those 20% coupons a couple of days ago. looks like I may have thrown it away.

Try it before you buy it or make certain you can return it. There were issues with these in the past that they were very prone to distortion.

If I can't return it, I won't get it. lol I asked the geek about a small scanner that was used to scan pictures. That might work for my needs too. Just trying to solve the "portable" issue.

Check it out on epinions.com and other consumer product review sites.

But if Flash is apprehensive about it, then that would be enough input for me.
