2019 Publix shops

New shop guidelines, times, fee and reimbursement for Publix shops are posted. The time period is no longer restricted and you can shop anytime between 9:30AM and 8:30PM. The good is reimbursement is increased to $12 while the shop fee is reduced to $5 and so far I have not found any OEO (sandwich) shops which I don't like because they eat heavily into the reimbursement. The bad is that they require evaluation of 8 departments plus checkout which will undoubtedly take more time than in previous years.

ICA violation, please remove the name of the MSC from the title. It violates both forum rules and your ICA to name both.

Hi, David. Welcome to the forums!

We are not overburdened with rules, but the major one is never to list an MSC with a client's name. Wales is right, please edit or remove your post.
I grabbed some last night. I think the questions are a little weirder too. At least for meat and seafood. But I definitely prefer more reimbursement since I will use all the items and reimbursement isn’t taxed. I also love the extended hours.

Eight departments? You'll have to interact with every department every time, which will increase your risk of exposure. I don't do any location too often, but now I'll have to space them out even more.

I had noticed the hours changes and the new fee and reimbursement and wondered about the sandwich- glad to know it's gone. I wonder if the stock checks are still required.

Guess I'll try one and see about those questions.
I have yet to do the new ones, so I have no comment on that. I will say, when the sub was a requirement, 2 and possibly 3 meals could be made if it alone. That in itself made it a high value shop for me.
It seems like more departments for less of a fee. tongue sticking out smiley But the expanded hours mean you have more time to get them done. smiling smiley
None are showing for 2019 in my area yet, just one or two for 2018, with the same limitation on hours. Hope the 2019 schedule comes up soon in my area.
The ones I got with the new hours had a start date of December 30. I took 4 and then they all disappeared so not sure if it’s because of the number of shops I have all ready taken this month or it has to do with the new shops and limits.
Pros- Better Hours, One Dollar more in Reimbursement.
Cons- More Difficult Questions (and fewer of them to choose from), smaller fee, more departments, waiting up to SIX minutes at the deli.

Feasibly, how many could one do in a day? There seems to be a Publix on every block in my area. My record for the weekend period is 3.
A bunch could be done in one day. At my Illinois Home I can do 6-8 Kroger’s in a 6 hour period. I have always disliked the short Publix window so am excited about this. But hoping I can get more than 4 at a time. For some odd reason I really like grocery shops.
It seems a lot of us were only allowed to schedule 4 shops. I'm accustomed to having 13 to 18 scheduled ahead. I'd like to see more comments regarding the number of shops one can schedule.
I saw these shops the day before yesterday. I took the 4 closest to me. There were still shops remaining on the board, so I think I could have scheduled more. However, there was only one shop per store, though some may have already been taken. The past couple of years, there have been two per store, the $10 reim and the $11.50 (OEO).

If there are only half as many shops being done, I predict fewer shops for me in 2019.
I just went over the guidelines for my four shops, all of them require a deli purchase + OEO. I don't think I will like this new guideline for 2019 because there will not be much money left over for any other purchases! Please let me know if all of your shops have the same requirements.
Ack I had not yet looked at them in depth. Not at all happy about the deli sandwich at every one. Liz
I didn't realize it was sandwich AND sliced meat or cheese. And to add to the suspicious shopper behavior, why would a person place an online sub order and not place their sliced meat/cheese order at the same time?

New Higher Reimbursement! So at least $6 for the sandwich, and average of $3 for the sliced item, there goes 75% of the reimbursement. Plus in my state, (Publix's home state) there is sales tax collected on the sandwich.

As far as the cost of the sliced item, it doesn't have to be $3.....I ALWAYS ask for 3 or 4 slices THIN SLICED cheese, you know, "so my husband can make fresh grilled cheese sandwiches...he loves those!", and the cost is usually under $1.00 or close to it. But if the sandwich is now a required part as well, that's a bummer. The new shops for 2019 aren't showing in my area yet.
I read the required purchase for my two January shops. Deli is required but no OEO. I don't like some of the questions which will give us away after a few shops.

There is more work and less pay. They all require a sub and sliced deli. The hours are better.
I also do a few slices of thin sliced cheese or whatever meat is on sale to keep the deli cost down. If they look at me weird I just say I wrap my dogs pills in it. smiling smiley
Well I had hope after I read Cubbiecat doesn’t have a sandwich on all of hers so I checked all of mine and they all have it. Wish there was a way to tell before you bring up the guidelines if there is a sandwich required. Liz
The sub was not there when I originally took the shop. They changed the guidelines at some point. I read and printed the tear out sheet right away after I took the shop and there is no online sandwich/sub to be ordered, this was about two weeks ago. The guidelines were seven pages.

The guideline is now 8 pages and they threw the online sandwich/sub part in there.

They have upped the reimbursement to $15.00 on the new batch just posted.

Thanks! I again was only able to sign up for 4 though. Liz
I was only able to sign up for 3! Plus, I took 2 last week at the $12 reimbursement. I do my first one on Jan 2. Can someone post when they do their first new shop and let us know how it went?

Yes. With these, you have to make a deli purchase and you have to make a seafood purchase. and ask a seafood question about it, So, as you can see, that seafood purchase is going to cut into your reimbursement.--depending how expensive it is.. (you have to order a certain kind of seafood).tongue sticking out smiley
I just got 3!!! WOO-HOO!!! I love Seafood, so I'm glad to go to that Dept! I only looked at the one of the 3 shop guidelines, and it didn't have the sub sandwich, so I hope the other two don't have them! But if they do, that's OK. With the added reimbursement, I'll do OK!
I am not reading it as you have to make a seafood purchase. What I read is that is one of the 2 question options are make a purchase and ask a question about meal solutions when they hand it to you. However, I remember before the subs a few years ago there were shops where you had to make a seafood purchase.

The guidelines that are there now on the new $15.00 shops are the same ones they had on the $12.00 shops before they added the sub in there. It will be interesting to see if they change these before the shop dates.

I was only allowed four.
I don’t believe seafood purcashe is required either. I read the directions as if you are buying seafood, then ask .... otherwise ask the first question.

I also read my mid January shop directions and none of those require a sub purchase.

Interesting.

Yes, Kathy1296, I believe you are reading it correctly. It looks like the only time a purchase is necessary is if you choose one of the questions given. Even so, I still love seafood, and may make good use of the reimbursement.
