My job board just shows two left that need to be shopped in the next couple weeks. I also did not get the EIN.
They've changed the quide lines. Those who agree to get the FEIN and Business account will get first dibs on assignements.
The cat is out of the bag: Maritz is getting the message and changing the rules. They will not require the EIN and business name. They will require insurance and photo ID (stupid excuse of being able to recognize a shopper if the client claims to have ID him/her), with time until March.
They said something about their legal team saying it will be necessary once Congress changes the law. Well, lets not hold our breath. Why is Maritz opening the umbrella before it rains?
Because their lawyers are justifing their fees, but giving them "advise" on a law that doesn't even exist.
If they cannot get their act together, why should we bother with all the prep work?
I just received an email from Maritz, that 2011 bank shops are now available to self-assign. I did not submit any EIN or business name.
Yup, I got 'em too for the typically generous $7.00 and $9.50. I still think that the bankers will remember me from recent visits. I think that the new requirements don't go into effect until April Fool's Day.
I think those have to be my least favorite shops. I don't know if it's this way at all of those banks, but the ones in my area always take at least 45 minutes now. The wait to see a banker is always 20-30 minutes, sometimes more. Then the supposed 5 minute meeting with the banker turns into 20 minutes when they continually try to get your SSN to run "just in case you had an account here before."

"No, I KNOW I've had no accounts here."

"Well just give me your number and let's check anyways."

I stopped taking them, but still get the phone calls to go to one 90 minutes away.
I do all banks shops early in the morning and never have to wait. I like them and wish I could do more.
Lisa, I found a way to keep these jobs down to 10 minutes or occasionally 15 (if the banker was pretty.) I always entered saying, "I am on the way to the airport to pick up my girlfriend, but wanted to stop in and quickly pick up some literature on XXX." They always miraculously found someone, occasionally the manager, who had time to give me the pitch immediately. Then, about 5 minutes into the presentation I looked nervously at my watch." The banker sensed my urgency and wrapped up the presentation. Nevertheless I am done with them, simply because I have heard to same pitch way to many times and also because the cumulative time for travel, photographs, and reporting is just too long for the compensation.
I did a few at the beginning of the month and the banker on more that one occasion asked if I had just been there recently, I told him that I had a party and had cleared off the table where I had out the information and could he give it to me again.
I also received the information about the 2011 shops in my area.

I've tried various stories with them before, sometimes I'm on my lunch break and need to hurry back. It's worked a few times, but not often. I have two that I am trying to finish. I've been to each branch twice and leave after 30 minutes. I've been waiting for a banker before and witnessed two bankers laughing and joking at their desks. I am sure that bank loses actual customers.
Wow, Lisa, that is so opposite of my experiences. I have found the personal bankers professional and serious and almost swarming me when I walk in the door. I have yet to sit and wait with over 30 under my belt. Clearly they need to be shopped in your area. My reports were almost perfect in all cases.
Upper management of the bank takes mystery shops very seriously; as they filter down to the branch level the end stops with the Bank Manager. Shop reports go into their personnel file.....these reports effect not only the personal banker/employee but the entire branch. Waiting 30 minutes for a personal banker is unacceptable by any standards especially when someone else could step forward and at least quiz you and set up an appointment.

I have been to banks on personal business and have walked out for less of a reason. Yes, they do and will always lose business when they act that way. But generally they are *almost perfect*.
I don't do the Maritz banks, but generally I have found that it is only the most arrogant of the banks that seem to think customers need to just cool their jets and wait around. Interestingly I could get to do a lot of new account shops at such banks because I sure as heck wouldn't open an account with them what with their attitude towards customers and the fees they want to stick it to the customer with. But sure as shooting the fees paid shoppers for these particular pieces of arrogance are also too miniscule to waste 15 minutes there, much less 30 minutes, waiting to be assisted.
I received email that new Bank shops weill be ready soon for 2011. I have not worked for them for awhile, did not update anything, and still being "persued".

Live consciously....
Good thing they do not know about your drinking!...winking smiley

I agree with you Irene. They realised by the responses from shoppers they would not be able to meet their clients schedules for the new year...

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
I was waiting for the gas station audits. They are more convenient for me to do than mystery shops of banks. I have done numerous banks in the past, and I'm not entirely comfortable with them. Maybe later. There are gas station mystery shops in my area but because of the audits I don't qualify. I wish I had never done an audit, then I could do the shops in much less time and make about the same. Has anyone seen any gas station audits yet?

They already posted the gas station audits here.
I just dropped the administrator a PM. I'm sure that IF permission was given it was not an encouragement to spam across the entire forum. And with spreadsheets available free by sending me a PM with an email address to which you wish it sent, it is not a great offer. I have always figured that you need to know or learn a little about spreadsheets in order to use them, so when I send them out I suspect that folks can at least use the categories to note what they need to keep track of even if they don't want to spend the time learning to handle a spreadsheet. For those willing to spend some time learning how to handle them or who already know, I figure spreadsheet or any other is just a jumping off point to build their own tool to best meet their needs.
Maritz $6.00 gas station assigments show up a week or two back and were apparently snapped up like flies on a frog pond. I just don't get it.
The $6.00 shops haven't shown up here in Ky yet I don't think. I have been watching for them every day.
