Interesting shop I had yesterday.

I had a Medicare shop at an assisted living facility yesterday. This was shop was for a palnned day and time. I went to the facility and was told the agent was busy with a bingo game for the seniors. The employee went and got him. He gave me his card and some handouts. He told me to call him later and we could set up a time to meet. He couldn't do it now because he was busy helping the seniors with a bingo game. He had a table set up with his Medicare information, but couldn't talk to me, because he had a bingo game to handle. LOL

I better get paid for this shop, even though the shop couldn't be done because of a bingo game.

You forgot to read the guidelines where it clearly states if the sales agent is involved setting up or running an activity such as bingo to take their card and call to set up an appointment. You will get paid $2 for an attempt and have the option of a reshop.

If that's the case, I'll never do another one of their Medicare shops again. Why should my pay be cut or denied because of someone else's actions.

and only $2 for an attempt. That is ridiculous but it is also important to read the full guidelines to make an informed decision before taking the job.
I had read not to be early, but to be there within the first 15 minutes to give the agent time to set up. There was no mention of them being busy with a bingo game or any other kind of game. That's like saying if they're busy tanning themselves, go back later.

I can understand why their Medicare shops are not taken.

I thought Buffalo was being sarcastic (???)

I don't think so.
I know with this company if the agent does not show up, your pay is cut in half. It seems they punished you for the agent not being there.
I am not sure which MSC that is. But... for most new home and apartment and senior living shops that I have ever done, if the target does not show, I get half of the fee and all of any travel allowance PLUS the opportunity to do the reshop at full price plus full travel bonus. Under those circumstances I am very happy to have the half fee (plus travel) for 5 minutes on site, plus a reshop at full price. Also, I would always have at least one other shop planned along with that shop because I rarely go anywhere without having 2-3 shops on the little route.

In most cases, I'd rather have half pay with no report than full pay with a report.
Since I did meet the agent, they want me to fill out what I can for the report. I don't think this is going to go well for the agent. He was in a real hurry to get back to the bingo game.
SoCal,
My point exactly.

I've done Medicare shops for another MSC, they paid more and paid you if the agent did not show up. I had that happen a couple of times. You should get a full pay for being ready for the shop and being there on time.

Do you really think the MSC company accepts HALF pay for a shop where the agent never shows up and rushes the shop? I don't think so.

Yeah but doing a phone shop where the store moved a few miles down and then another where they changed the name of the store. Only half pay what is up with that.
