Gross food w/ no pay to boot

So I got my first "sorry we are not paying you" email.
My fault I guess, I ordered the same gross sandwich at the Mc-drive thru as the Mc-walk in.

That is $10 of my cash I am in NO position right now to be out.

I canceled all other shops I had scheduled with them just out of pure frustration.

Grrrr .....

They do tell you what you can order from drive thru or inside. I do tons of these shops and always get paid. Sorry you are out your cash, but this one was on you. Still very frustrating, I know. I've messed up instructions on a few myself. Hard to keep everything straight sometimes.

I sure hope they respond well to input from shoppers about the McShops. I picked doing drive thru and inside separately (would help eliminate getting spotted), paying with a debit card, and being able to take someone with you (so grandkids could go too).
This is a lesson for you, next time you'll know. Many have been out more than $10.00 for shops. Remember you have to have $$ to lose at the beginning. Now just know what they expect and move on.

Be smart when ordering, then. Look at what you can order in both the drive-thru and walk-in portions of the shop and determine what you like most and are willing to eat. Simple as that.
Be advised that many schedulers have the ability to change a walk in to a drive through shop and visa versa. I have had this done for me but not with the company doing the McNasty shops. Thats one of the reasons I dropped them some time ago...

Shopping Bama and parts of Georgia.
I'm still learning 24/7.
Sometimes if you get it wrong and you call the scheduler to explain, you will be given another chance. Yes, they can alter the assignment and they can "push it through" sometimes if they think the client will accept it. They know that we intend to do it right and that mistakes happen. They know that we are dependable and usually get things done right and on time.

I think the problem with this shop is that the client wants different types of sandwiches to be ordered at the drive thru and inside. If you order beef inside, you need to order chicken outside.
Just order what they say and don't eat it if you don't want it. Take a taste to follow instructions, stick around for the appointed time, throw the stuff away and go elsewhere for something that suits you. You will get reimbursed so it's not like you're out any real money except for the short term.
last week I did a shop and the cashier did not hear correctly what was ordered. So when I sat down and saw the wring sandwich and the wrong item on the receipt,I went to the front and the manager apologized adn gave me the correct sandwich. I did not get the corrected receipt although the manager did something in the register.
I explained it on the report and I think I will be paid. I should have looked at the receipt immediately. I think I was just lucky.
G8r1966 - same thing happened to me and I did get paid.

I did not explain it, but they came back and asked me. Never heard anything else, but I did get paid.
I have also had that happen and got paid. I explained it on the report.

A couple of years ago, though, we wouldn't get paid by one company if we had to change a wrong order. That's not exactly the same thng as you are reporting, but at least the same company and client now allow us to tell the restaurant when the order is wrong.

Would it break MF (if that is the company being discussed) to let you know what you did wrong BUT at least reimburse your food purchase and move on? This would be a nice gesture for someone like me who gets shafted on their very first shop for MF. I can't believe this is a "$$ to lose at the beginning" company, but a "crap shoot every time" risky assignment company. There's just too many complaints posted to think otherwise.
I haven't really ever thought of the shops with Market Force as being a crap shoot. I think of MF shops as dead easy and so are their reports. I have done over 500 shops for them. I did not get paid for one shop - my fault, I went to the wrong location - how dumb is that! It's tough to not get paid so I understand your distress. At the same time, make this a learning experience. Focus on the guidelines and do exactly as they say. As for ordering, look at the menu and decide before you get in line what you will order so you are ready with your order without having to ask questions. Until you have done a few shops, you may have to get out of the car and look at the menu before you drive your car into the drive-thru line. This is a cheap-o meal so you didn't lose much. If you were shopping a high-end restaurant you would have been out a lot more and it would hurt a lot more.
The companies we work with are not charities, nor are they public schools. They do expect that you will follow directions and get the work performed correctly. In the workplace, that is not an unfair expectation. I have had shoppers PM me with complaints about how unfairly they were treated--they did everything right but weren't 'given' a receipt. You learn the hard way by having one shop rejected that receipts where required are not optional and sometimes you just need to ask for or demand one. Ordering the wrong thing--you learn the hard way by having one shop rejected that you need to order the required items. You were too tired/your computer broke down/your internet wouldn't connect and you didn't get the report in on time so it was rejected--you learn the hard way by having that happen to you once and you make 'emergency backup plans' for ways to get it done. I know places in the neighborhood where I can snag a free wifi signal, I have up to 10 hrs free of dial up internet from Juno, I know where the public library is and their hours are posted on the refrigerator. I do have a laptop so I can be mobile, but I also can use the public library's machines for 30 min at a time (though I may have to stand in line to do so).
Flash,

I agree. As I said it was my fault 100% (still frustrating, none the less).

I was deactivated on that side because I took myself off 2 other jobs after this.
I honestly just fill myself way past what I am humanly able to do. Its hard when you are trying SO hard to keep the bills paid to turn down any jobs that are within reasonable driving distance (at least for me).

So canceling and being deactivated might have all been a blessing.
I am still very happy with the purple side and am trying to take on only what I can handle winking smiley
There is an important lesson here for anyone just starting out.

Don't take on more jobs than you can handle in one day. It is very easy to keep requesting jobs and then get overwhelmed when you realize the amount of work and time that you have committed to. Also remember: For some people this might just be a sideline job but this is a serious business for the MSC so treat it as such.
Sometimes it is hard to know how much you can handle. That makes us err on the side of too little work. As Flash said, all sorts of things happen. There is a little country town I go to occasionally. Last year, I had to allow time for highway construction going on for weeks.

Flash, I as well go to the library when needed. We are able to make appt. here for an hour at a time. They also print 10 copies for free, it is your responsibility to "make it work", next time you'll do fine, the first rejection is always the hardest, but not the last. MSC's can't hold our hands, just doesn't work that way!!

Live consciously....
The library is my last resort. I can use it for an hour at a time, but no appointments, you just sit and wait. They don't do any free printing here either. But .... when I'm desperate, and need to get reports in, hey .....
The very first FF shop I did for them a fews years ago was done wrong. I wasn't use to the CPI and didn't realize that it needed done during a particular time frame. I realized when I went to enter my report that it was a dinner and not a lunch that I was to do. I went back later and did the dinner period. I was out some $$$, but learned fast from that experience:-) Happy New Year everyone!!! Be safe!!
Yep, it sounded harsh, but totally true.

And I thought I was the only one who has an emergency plan incase my internet is down smiling smiley I am lucky I am just down the road from library. Even when they are close, I can get their free wifi from my laptop smiling smiley

FYI, other places for wifi: Mcdonals, Starbucks, Chick fil a, many restaurants now has free wifi that you can get even from parking lot.

I spent $15.55 on a "cheap-o meal" and to me that is plenty. I do shops for other MSCs at full service restaurants where I can order what I want and not have to eat in my car. The meals cost no more than that, I am served in a relaxing environment and I get fully paid every time!
