How do I put my screenshot into a "file folder"?

OK, guys and dolls -- your well-known computer whiz kid here.

I'm doing a shop that requires "screenshots".

I'm using Foxfire, who have been kind enough to make that rather simple ("right click on page, click on 'take screenshot'" -- LOL, even I can do that!).

Well, right now the screenshots are just sitting here, each on a separate "tag" or window, I suppose.

I need to put each screenshot into a "file" or "folder" or something. I've tried several things, and I suppose they worked, but I cannot for the life of me FIND them.

So, please, how do I put each screenshot in some place, a place that I can (I suppose) double click on it and it will download right to the report?

And if you also manage to impart to me what that place is CALLED, I would appreciate it, ROTFLMFAO!!!

Thanks.

Do you have the yellow folder icon on the bottom of your screen?
Yes. And when I click on it, I get a LONG list of locations.

Woe and alas, none of those locations says "screenshots", LOL!!!
You need to create a new folder and move them there. Hold on. Let me log into a firefox browser.

ETA: I did not download it on this new desktop.

When you right click the photo or page, you should be able to choose:
Save image as

Did you save them that way?

Otherwise, I think that you could click on them, open them again and then save them that way?

Yes, I saved them.

But I can't FIND them.

Color me clueless.

Try downloads, then try pictures.
My guess is that they went to downloads.
"Microsoftjscript compilation error" is what I get when I click on the file that was created at the exact time/date I "saved" the screenshot.

There's no picture there, just the above statement, with an "X" in a red circle.
Go to the bottom of your screen. In the box with the microphone or magnifying glass, type "screenshot." That should open Windows Explorer and show you the file path.

Hi Ceasesmith,

After you take the screenshot and go to save it click the downward arrow. This will save it to your downloads. Then on the top right corner of Firefox click the down arrow and it will show your screenshot. Right click and select open containing folder. That will take you to where the image is saved on your computer. Then, right click the screenshot and click "send to" and select desktop. All the screenshots will then be on you desktop.

Page Saver WE is the best screenshot extension I know of for Firefox. It will automatically save to Downloads.
LOL -- don't forget I don't even know what an extension is, how to find it, or what to do with it, LOL!!!
I would like to thank those who asked and answered this question. I recently took a screen shot for a job and it somehow got into photos. I was trying to edit the bank statement I had to send to black out my balances and other transactions. I finally printed the thing out, blacked out what I did not need and scanned it back in. After reading advice I found that pic still there in pics. I was able to use edit to draw a sloppy blue line through everything I wanted to hide and then save it to my scans. I will try the advice above next time.
Thanks for this thread. I didn't know Firefox would do a screenshot for me. (I usually do a Print Screen, paste into Paint, then crop out the information I don't want on there.) You've just saved me a lot of time.

I don't even HAVE Paint, and wouldn't know how to use it if I did have it, ROTFLMFOAO!!!
If you want to capture just part of a screen (up to the entire screen), the Snip tool that comes as part of recent versions of Windows works really well. And you can ask Windows how to use it. If anyone is interested, I can provide instructions. Very simple.

If you want a more versatile tool, I strongly recommend SnagIt. I have been using versions of SnagIt for at least 18 years. But when someone needs something fast, I still tell them to use the Snip tool because they have it already (but usually don't know it).

Count me amongst the number who don't know it!
I tried the snip tool yesterday and it worked well but the resulting "picture" had the headings etc from the original page still on it. The other issue was that it was saved in png format. As I recall that was the big issue I had when I did this. I could not load the png format into my report. Is there a simple way to convert?

If you happen to have an iPhone, there's a "secret" way to convert pics to pdf format.

Open the Photos app and choose the picture you want to convert to a PDF. Tap on the Sharing button and then choose “Print” from the sharing option action menu. At the Printer Options screen, use a spreading gesture on the photo preview to access the secret Save PDF option.

It took me a while to figure this out. After using the spread gesture you need to select the share icon on the top right then select “save to files”. You will then see the PDF option.
Sandyf -

1) There are several very easy to use, online tools to convert PNG to JPG. Search Google for convert png to jpg and take your choice. This one will convert over 100 different formats to JPG: [image.online-convert.com]

2) It should be possible to select just the part of the page that you want without any headings. Without watching you do it, it is hard to solve this issue. All I can say is that I capture just portions of pages without any problem using Snip.
