"No more response needed. We get it now. You live at your Moms house and make $60 dollars an hour mystery shopping and are on government subsidized health insurance."

And, of course, you missed all the RELEVANT details, as in planning, planning, planning.

Tax planning is EXACTLY how to retain wealth, rather than hand it over to the government.

Professional tax planning is not cheap, and it's very, very smart.

Just think, when she (or he) is my age, due to their diligence and planning, they will avoid being like me: truly So Broke I Got To Do This.

I still want a recipe or two for yellow rice.

@walesmaven, I have a great recipe.
Soak 2 cups Basmati Rice (Preferably) for 30 minutes.
Heat a saucepan with oil, then add onions, garlic, ginger , paprika, cayenne pepper. Sauté for about a minute or two.
Stir in rice to the pan, about 2 minutes, then add 4 cups of stock/water, bring to a boil, reduce heat, and simmer until rice is almost cooked- about 10-12 minutes into cooking.
Cover and continue cooking, for a few more minutes until rice is completely cooked.
Turmeric or a tbsp of saffron soaked in warm milk gives a great color. You may opt for either of those two.

I have tried variations by adding peas, potatoes, green beans, etc.
Skip the rice. We need more information, please.

Should people who have ability and means to work and provide insurance for themselves be expected to pay for their own insurance? Or, should they be like bgriffin and use up valuable services and monetary equivalents that might be needed in the near and distant future by persons who will not have ability and means to provide insurance for themselves? Where is the brag? If this is lauded as a form or wealth management, it should be debunked now because it does not consider values in the utilization and disbursement of wealth. Who values the rich co-opting what the poor (who will always be with us) need and cannot provide for themselves? Who Does That?!?!?

How much turmeric, please? I have heard it called "the poor man's saffron."

Thank you sooo much!

Fortunately, I am accustomed to this. 99% of anything that had anything to do with money was ugly, in my family. There is not much difference between this discussion and years of money hell with family.

@walesmaven, half a tsp. Yes, Turmeric is linked to improved brain function and a lower risk of brain diseases. We use it all the time. My 84 year old grandma (bless her heart) taught me how to use it in everyday cooking.

I have the same problem.

.... It all started in their childhoods. (Whose?) I dunno. Probably some nuts from generations ago! (I see.) It spread from generation to generation, across decades and centuries, and now it's here. I have to deal with the fallout from years and years of wrongheadedness. (Mmm Hmm. You think it's a generational thing? Like a curse?) Mmm Hmm....

It almost always started with bad parenting!

Discussions about money do not have to be ugly. This thread was started so as to give folks who are trying to make more money through their mystery shopping endeavors ideas for how to do so. I put what I do out for all to see and figured others would chime in with their ideas. Those who were interested could read, ask questions, and experiment with ideas that they thought might help them.

There is no reason to bring ugliness to such a discussion.

I like talking about money and how to get/make more. I don't see the need to insult other people's lifestyles. As far as judging someone for getting a health plan they are clearly entitiled to or they couldn't get it, off of the government health exchange, it's no one else's business. No one else knows anyone's situation over a internet forum.
Stop judging and myob.

I just started taking a tablet daily. My poor brain needs all the help it can get!
Now I just need to find a way to take elderberry extract in a pill form. I can only find it in a liquid and that doesn't work well for travel.

What company do you go through for the apartment and house shops? I'm new to this and this is my first time hearing of those!
I use Turmeric in many recipes like chicken, soup and meat loaf, using 1 tsp. it really doesn't change the flavor. I buy it in bulk at Sprouts, very inexpensive, and yes, it is so good for you, your health and your brain...hey, look at me...smiling smiley
My last statement as to this thread is: this industry doesn't have an hourly fee, that may have been the problem with the whole discussion, and health Ins. is a good question as Independent Contractors do have that to worry about, which is another reason this is a great industry for seniors on Medicare.

New Homes: If you get into video and are good at it, these MSC's will find you. smiling smiley
Apartments: There are many. Jancyn, Marketstat, Cirrus, Ellis, NWLPC, Grace Hill, EliteCX, Clear Evaluations, and more.

That is all fine and good. But for us folks who don't want to live for free at our moms house and have to use government paid health insurance this persons advice is a cautionary tale of what not to do in life.. The exact reason why I mystery shop is because I do not want to mooch off relatives and the government. What if Obama care does get cut then what is this person going to do?

I don't "want" to live for free at my mom's house. She asked me to when my dad passed away and refused any rent or help with the utilities. I finally negotiated paying for all of the groceries. That was difficult enough.

I don't "have" to use government funded health care. I do because the option is available to me and is the cheapest route. If Obamacare gets cut then I will go back to the same insurance I had previously.

I don't care that you don't like me. I don't care if you think my advice is unusable. I don't care what you think about me. What I do care about is you characterizing my situation and my business in a way that is incorrect because you don't like me.

A single person that makes more then 40,000 a year is not eligible for Obama Care. How do you make less then 40,000 dollars a year while making $60 dollars an hour? You don't!
