AT&T "Full Purchase Shop"

Has anyone done this? There are a whole bunch of them within a few miles of me just sitting there. They're incentive'd up to $140 each. They're approaching the point where they may be worth dealing with having to buy and return a cell phone.

There is not enough money in the world to make me buy and return a cell phone.

Pronoun, schmonoun. I am a female human.
Is the return required? I can't do these, since my zip code would flag the system as an address where service is not offered, but I was wondering about someone who needs a phone.
Another thread started by Adamshops has some info. I did the shop. I signed up for a cable provider. There is a credit check. (hard hit) They set you up for an appointment for installation. Have it pushed out for the following week. As long as they don't install it, your debit card will not be charged. I canceled the whole thing on the phone The report is fairly simple. I did it for $ 140. WELL WORTH IT.
@Shop-et-al I've never had to do it. That's kind of why I asked. The process probably sucks.
You don't have to return. It's the sale that they evaluate.

I wish I had the option to sign up for cable with them. That would work out really nicely. My only option is mobile...

I'm pretty picky and this shop didn't look appealing. But i needed to buy a new phone anyhow, so I didn't have to worry about the return part. But after doing the shop, I would definitely do it again even with the return or cancellation, especially for $140.
Can you sign up for pre paid service and a phone? My spouse won't let me do shops that require a credit check.

I did the shop when it first came out. There was a minimum hour between the purchase and return, so I did another shop in between.

Both sides of the process were flawless. I was refunded everything except for the restocking fee (salesman's commission) which I got reimbursed for.

I would not have my credit pulled for $140 and a phone that I was not going to use IMO that is foolish.

I would pull it for $140 for a credit card that I would be keeping - Target Red Card or Nordstrom for example (but I have had those cards for over 20 years).
My credit score was not affected.

I did it without a problem. I played like I was purchasing a pre-paid phone for my dad, and it went fine. I even lucked out and didn't have to deal with the same employee for the return. It did cost me $40 on the return, but that was reimbursed.
So you could do a prepaid without a credit pull?

I just called and asked them. They said they don't do credit pulls on pre paid. So I took one. We'll find out. If they try to do one I'm out.

I did one for $130 but I wouldn't do it again. I didn't think about the credit inquiry and was annoyed when I realized one had hit. Be sure to double check on the pre-paid phones. The shop I did specifically excluded pre-paids.
I did one when they first came out as I wanted to upgrade my phone. It is very easy .
I signed up to do another one now that I know prepaid is an option.

I thought shoppers were only allowed one per round?

Update : I called the MSC to make sure I could do a pre paid shop and they told me no I couldn't.

In my case, the employee set up a pre-paid purchase a bit by accident. I explained in the report and the shop was accepted.

BTW- You can't name the MSC since the client was already named.

Oops I fixed it. Thanks

Hence why I never heard back from them.

$100 incentives now. I'm starting to actually consider it now. The return and the credit pull have kept me away.
$175 pay now very tempting.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
No thanks, there is a credit check. I did one for Sprint awhile ago and had major problems, no more phone jobs for me.
