"Time is Money"...How long do you spend "negotiating" fees before moving on?

...and opening up that desired shop time for other shops if you can't agree on a fee/reimbursement structure for a shop(s) that you want?

I make an offer. It's rejected or accepted. That's the end of it.

A "light year" is a measure of distance, not time...

Hard work builds character and homework is good for your soul.
I won't spend more than a few moments even thinking about negotiating a bonus for a hard to fill/late shop. I will sleep just fine if it gets filled or not. There's more wiggle room with a scheduler that I like working, with, though. And, I'm a pushover for Panerai trinkets.

There's plenty more fish (shops) in the sea. I get on with my day. If they decide to meet my price they know my number.
I seldom negotiate a single shop so when negotiating the stakes are quite a bit higher than an extra $10 on a Five Guys. I take as long as I need to take to win.

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
I quote how much it will take to get me to complete the job. That is the end of negotiation. They either accept and assign the job to me, or I fill my schedule with other jobs.
