JUUL bulk compliance shops

I was just curious if anyone has had a store not sell them the six 4-packs of JUUL pods? I did 16 shops between July 1-3 and I went 15/16 and that was only because one shop was completely out of pods. I started to think I was doing something wrong that every store sold me the 6 without blinking. I just wanted to see if anyone else had the same luck or if some stores have followed the guidelines.

I did two shops this week. The first location did not have six packs in stock, only three packs. The second location carried a knock off.

Every shop I've done has sold me 6 pods (besides stores that were low on stock/didn't sell JUUL). The owners of the store are probably well aware of the bulk policy required by JUUL but I doubt they actually relay that information clearly to the employees.
I went to the wine store in my neighborhood a few days ago. There was a JUUL display by the register. Out of curiosity, I I asked how many packs I could buy at one time. He told me 4.

I always wondered who did them, wow you guys are definitely better than me. This type of shop makes me sweat lol 1. I refuse to finance it and put on my cc. 2. Isn't this the one you have to return by mail.
I am far too dumb for this kind of shop, I'm just honest lol
@Mysteriousways Yep, you have to return it by mail. I do them because the MSC pays very fast (within 2 weeks) and always on time and the scheduler is super responsive. The fast payment makes it possible for me to pay off the cc on time without having to keep a balance. I've earned a good amount of credit card reward points because of these shops. Plus the pay is good- $25 if you are able to buy the pods/$15 if you aren't. It's super easy to build a lucrative route (especially if you live in a downtown/metro area like in SF where there are multiple smoke shops within a few blocks of each other). The shop takes on average 2-3 minutes to complete and another 1-2 minutes to fill out the report, which is super short. The only annoying this is having to mail the pods on another day but the pay makes up for it.

Why?

Around here the shop pays $15. I would not put down $185 per shop just to make $15. That is crazy.
Exactly! They are super fast shops and easy reports. I use my rewards card and get more bang for my buck. I've gone to mostly gas stations here in NY. The only pain was then having 14 boxes to send back haha.

Did anyplace have the sign? None of mine did.
I am going to do about a dozen of these towards the end of the month and live in the Phoenix area. (1) We have a flat fee of $15 regardless of if we have to purchase or the purchase is refused. (2) I questioned my scheduler about carrying a balance on my cc and paying interest and was told all cash registers have been tweaked so that I should not be allowed to make a purchase. From the posts here, AZ is getting paid less and told something that quite possibly is not true. Yes these are easy - I did some a couple months ago at $22 each thinking it was end of the month crunch. Now that I know what the going rate is elsewhere, I'm thinking of canceling these shops as it will put about 125 miles on the car and over $1500 on my cc.
Also, anyone working to keeping their wages below the $599 threshold of being 1099'd should know that any money paid to you - even for JUUL reimbursements - will be included on your $1099. So if you do 6 shops for $25 each and pay out $100 each shop for the product, you will be 1099'd for $725.00
I realize all money earned is to be reported; however, there are some I have talked to that keep their earnings per MSC under $600 for just this reason. They are usually the "hobby shopper" and not the "this is a real job" shopper.
That's so strange because I've never had reimbursements added to my 1099s before. Is this just something that this particular company does? I will be sure to itemize correctly on my Quick Books program and hopefully, that will lessen the blow.

Are you asking about the ban?
They’re gross, polluting and bad for your health and market to kids?
reimbursements are not taxable and do not need to be reported.
Are cigarettes banned?

@HonnyBrown Nope. It's a ban on any e-cigarette product not approved/reviewed by the FDA, which essentially is all e-cigarette products as the FDA still doesn't regulate any e-cig product.
There are a few MSCs which include reimbursements on 1099 forms. This has been discussed in this forum over the years. It is wrong, but the MSCs are intractable. I personally really don't care, because I report all (fees plus reimbursements) as revenue, and deduct all expenses as, (drum beat) expenses.

That's odd that vaping/ecigs would be banned and cigarettes won't.

E-cigs don't pollute.

You will get a 1099 from them even if you earn a dollar.

From this particular MSC or any? I did a ton last year and only got from the ones that I made over $599. And then you get places like a bank where I opened a checking account and got a bonus of $100 and they sent a form for taxes ????
Dang, I wish I these were in my area. I'd fall all over myself doing them for the AMEX points. I LOVE big reimbursement shops.
Yes, you owe taxes on the $100. $100 deductible as a business expense for the bank. $100 taxable income for you. So sayeth the IRS.

From this one.... if you earn a buck you get a 1099. Each company does them on their own. They are NOT combined.

You only get a 1099 if you earn over $600.

Absolutely false.... you get it for ONE DOLLAR earned

That is not supposed to be true. The trigger for issuing a Form 1099 is $600 in a single calendar year. Are companies permitted to send out a Form 1099 is you receive just $1 or just $100? I am not sure. I know that I have never received a Form 1099 for sums under $600. I have far more MSCs with yearly totals under $600 than over $600.
