So glad I have another income

We are in a country with a booming economy and record low unemployment, I hear traditional business cant find employees, but, MS and field service companies still think they have you by the gonads. Twenty five dollar shops are not 17 or less and 10.00 or 7.00. Coupon shops with no return and now you have to see tree different people in a hardware store. If you people continue to act pitiful and work for peanuts you have no respect for yourself.

We people aren't acting pitiful. Who ever said that most of us work for peanuts? You aren't the first one to write posts like this, I don't know where "you" people come from, but the MS market in my area is just fine. I haven't seen any people in any hardware stores, I don't do those shops. Any shops that paid $25 before still do. I also don't do coupon shops, either. I don't do $7 or $10 shops unless they take 5-10 minutes and can be reported in 10 minutes on an app on my phone (I can do 3-4 of those in an hour). The only thing I can think of is that you aren't signed up with the right MSCs.
No worthwhile conversation has ever contained the phrase "YOU PEOPLE"

I don’t think any company makes you take a shop. Never had one grab at me for sure.

Should I feel neglected?

I don’t work for peanuts. I make bread.

Sounds like you may have offended a bunch of folks, ynk.

Putting aside quibbles about how you phrased things, I agree with the basic disgust you have towards ridiculous MS fees.

I'm not sure we can always blame the MSC, however. It may be that the client is cheap.

BWW is back, for example, and they routinely have $20 and $30 fees (on top of reimbursements). That MSC that offers them has abysmally low rates for other shops that I won't take. So, sometimes you have an MSC with great paying shops and very poor paying ones. Maybe it's the client?

I really don't know.

I know that I get offended by $9 cell phone shops or $15-20 apartment shops. It's not an issue of no one forcing me to take them. The rates is just plain disrespectful. What if I offered some person to babysit my daughter for $5/hour. I then say...well, you know, if you JUST HAPPEN to be driving by and free (you'll save gas) and it's on the way to doing something else that day, then please come by my home for an hour to babysit her. Before doing so, I have a 3-page list of guidelines I need you to memorize and prepare for when coming to our home and watching her. She has likes and dislikes, allergies, and specifically scheduled things she must do that day. After you're done, I'll need to call you the following day to ask what happened during certain times - that'll just take 15 minutes more or so of your time. Come on by when you're free and we'll pay you $5/ hour.

Long story short, everyone probably agrees that SOME job fees are so low as to just be disrespectful. Thankfully, there are some good ones out there too! Just keep doing the good ones and avoid the rip-offs as much as you can.

You know - i feel personally attacked by this post because of the post I made earlier about being a single mom and it being my only income right now, so I was seeking help for which companies pay quicker then 30-60 days. All i have to say is - I might not be getting rich, but Im also getting to stay home and RAISE my son myself instead of paying out the ass for someone else to do it while missing out on all his best memories as a child - I ENJOY it too! If you feel your working for peanuts, then why are you here?? You are the ONLY bitter and rude person I have met in this wonderful community of people and to be honest with an attitude like that, no wonder your being offered "peanuts" seems like your lucky to be offered anything at all with ANY company. Nobody likes a sour puss my dear.

We two people in my household joke about working for peanuts. It's a bad joke with two references: elephants eat peanuts and they never forget. It's a silly reference to affirm for good memory. When we split a Payday candy bar, we are using our income to pay for peanuts; we work for peanuts (and, the hubby gets a treat).

We respect your right to like, dislike, or be neutral about our admittedly bad puns.

People who label others ‘trolls’ are usually more negative than the ‘trolls’ themselves. It seems to be true in this case too.
Book, new forum member, and the first post is to make a comment like that? It's suspect of an incarnation of a previously banned or an existing forum member who likely has several identities in the forum.

Go to Five Guys.

BARE International has some good paid dining shops too.

Watch out with FG, b/c reimbursement now doesn't cover the meal cost anymore.
I did some fast food shops in Kansas last month -- and got hit with 12% sales tax!!! Made every single meal go over reimbursement.

I could hardly believe it. You know that old saw, if you want people to do less of something, tax it; if you want them to do more, incentivize it. Guess Kansas wants people to eat less fast food.

.

Yeah, but all those peanuts!
@ceasesmith I have never really thought about the sales tax rate while shopping, but now I will. Here in NJ it is 6.625%, but many buisinesses on my island qualify for UEZ breaks and sales tax is only 3.3125%. That can make a huge difference when it's a bigger ticket item. Was there a local tax to make it that high in Kansas?

I did my first Five Guy's away from home in TN. The shop had no takers. Got 12.50 as reimbursement and $20 in shop fee. Didn't buy peanuts though with the profit...maybe a grain free granola bar from Costco. It's really good.

Yeah, Five Guys has free peanuts.
Mum, they didn't have free peanuts at your Five Guys? There is usually a big batch available for self-serve.
Ask me about cashews, pistachios, sesame seeds, or pine nuts, and you'll get a different answer. But be careful, it might ensue into recipes.

I know, neither is catnap or sobroke. I could have added ancient1 and a few others. It was just an homage to a string of trolls.
