App Shops

I have never done any of the shopping with the app assignments. Are they pretty simple? Easy to complete? I keep seeing them and I'm not a completely tech savvy person, but it seems simple enough to put an app on my phone (?)

I will comment on one of these (other posters will tell you about other options).

I have used the GoSpotCheck app for merchandising tasks. You enter data and images as you go. On a perfect day, your assignment will be finished and entered before you drive away from the location. In the real world, the worst thing that I have encountered is spotty coverage and a need to enter the information later. As long as you also keep track of inventory counts or identification numbers in a note app on your phone (or somewhere), you will have all information when you have coverage again and can enter the data. Entering the data after the assignment feels exactly like entering a mystery shop report on the phone.

I use the iSecretShop app to submit my reports. They are straightforward and usually take 10 minutes. Yesterday, I had technical difficulties. It took 4 hours.

I have Field Agent, Mobee, Observa, GigWalk, Presto InstaShops and GoSpot Check on my phone. I use the ISS mobile instead of the app because I have too much crap on my phone. I haven't done many of the gig app stuff (the first 3) but there aren't many in my area other than gas shops. They all are for the most part very user friendly and often a lot easier than entering info on your computer.

Ugh! Sounds like a headache!
Can GoSpotCheck be used by IC's? It says you can only use it with an invite from an admin with a company that is paying for the service.
It was on my end. My cable and wifi went out on Friday. The cell signal in my house is weak. That made the app lag.

@zcheeze33 It really only makes sense to use it if a company you're doing work for requires it. It's not a job board or anything, it's basically a reporting app. I use it so infrequently that I delete and download it if I need it for a shop.

I love ISS. I do a lot of shops on the app each month. Today I have trouble opening Mobee app. They release tons of shops each Tuesday in my area and I am sure I missed a lot of opportunities today by just not be able to open the app.
I have tried using the Mobee app. It kept freezing. I ended up reporting from home via my computer.

The Source has a good app, but it doesn't always check in / check out. As a back up, get exterior pictures.

I love Observa. The app walks you through the pics to take. You can't submit with pictures missing.

I don't do a lot on Field Agent, unless I'm right in the area, because the fees aren't high enough to just go out and do the jobs. But twice, they had demo jobs where you have to go observe the person doing the demo. The pay was only $4, so I wouldn't go just for that. But...I was RIGHT IN the store shopping, and the demo for one week was ice cream cones, and the next week was pie and ice cream!! I was glad I was there to do those two!! And then this past Monday, after my visit with the dentist, a big box store about half a mile away had a wet dog food audit whose price had gone up to $8, so I took it. It was the easiest job I've ever done for FA!! Answer questions about my personal opinions and observations on wet dog food and then take a picture! Took all of 7 minutes total, for $8! So every now and then I'll do a FA job.

If the company uses the app they will send you a code for the assignment.
