Mystery shopping nightmare (literally)

Last night I had a dream that I was on a mystery shop (restaurant) with my mother. My mother and I don't speak much and have a very strained relationship. I guess I had been taking her on lots of restaurant shops and was asking her for height, body build, hair length etc. about the server, hostess, and manager from a shop 3 weeks prior. She could not remember and started saying in a loud voice "oh relax so you might be banned from mystery shopping, get over it". I was so upset I wasn't going to get the reimbursement.

I don't do a ton of MSing, but I guess I was looking on this forum a bit too much yesterday, ha. I have one coming up next weekend with my wife and her parents...but they won't know it's a shop so I should be fine.

Anyone else ever have a dream about MSing?

No dreams/nightmares, but when I first started coaching my husband to be my dining companion on shops, he would blurt things out like, "Did you get the timing on the beverage, app, entree, etc?".
When I finish a job, I'm over it unless they ask for more...no dreams ever. I did dream last night about being in love with a schoolmates father when I was young (geez). They were a wealthy family and I had a great life...haha

ha! I think the dream was more about anxiety surrounding having to see my mother soon. I do maybe 5-10 restaurant shops a year. *shrug*

I used to have the waitress nightmare. A lot! Where the restaurant is packed, customers are screaming for food, they've been waiting hours. Food piling up in the kitchen window, NONE of it is the right orders. No one working in the kitchen, everybody yelling. Sometimes, during the dream, I would just sit down and think it must be a nightmare and I'll wake up. But sometimes it was actually real.
I do not sleep well if I think I have not answered the questions on the report appropriately. Can we say when things go WRONG?
I would give anything to have my mother still alive so I could take her out on shops with me. I miss her so much!
Me too @JASFLALMT! Mom was the best MS partner and she really enjoyed doing the fine dining and hotel shops we got to do. MS gave us a lot of great memories that we probably wouldn't have had the opportunity to without.

For meals that require two people... my EX who has an issue with anxiety would do something to make people look, pick a fight, etc. OMG, I've missed key details because I'd get so stressed.. and that's a huge non-reimbursement to eat. I stopped inviting him and stick with friends that find it fun!
smh....the one that gets me is I'll tell him not to touch the food until I snap a pic & he'll nod and tell me he knows. Not 30 seconds later, he's diving right into the food - fork full, mouth open, while I am kicking & throwing the "wait til we get home look".

I haven't had MS dreams but I still dream not showing up for work and not calling out, or working in my PJs at my McDonald's job in HS... but it is current day and it's my part time job. Ha ha.
Jas/Jenny ...I so feel your loss, I miss having my daughter near to enjoy my dinners, but we'll do it in a week,
still looking, timing may say no this time, won't do Coyle's, just too much work. Loss is a B____!!. I lost my beloved Father when I was 22, way too early, but feel his spirit in me......

years ago I used to have dreams where I was shopping, usually grocery stores. I would be in those stores for hours and hours it seemed like. Doing laps. I decided when I woke that my dreams were telling me that I was still looking for something in life.
Fast forward twenty years, those grocery shops where you used to have to do a lap around the store doing a count before you could start the actual shop.
My dream was predicting the future. VERY accurately.
Not so much a nightmare, but I occasionally dream that my dog gives me her feedback about shops she does with me.
What kinds of shops do you and your dog do together?

I recently dreamed that I was a photographfer taking pictures at the top of the Empire State Building of 911 that ended with a single figure or candle at the Memorial site. If I do a mystery shop with my husband, I tell him to keep his mouth shut. On one shop, he threw out the ticket stubs that I needed to return to the company and I ended up going into a garbage can looking for them. I have dreamed about that. Years ago when I worked in a candle factory, one of the employees said that she had once dreamed that she had been chased by a giant candle and said that if it had caught her she would have resigned her job.
I double that for both my mom and my husband.

Yes, Sandy. I know that will be me some day as well. You seem to cope so well, you are a strong woman indeed.
My pup is welcome or encouraged for some, but not all, pet stores; hotels; outdoor dining; and hardware stores.
LOL! In my wildest dreams, I would be paid extremely excessively for thinking about the general concept of mystery shopping, more than that for dreaming up shops that I would want to do, and substantially more than that for doing shops that I do not want to do.

But seriously. I have not had dreams or nightmares about mystery shopping. At most, I have dreamt up shops that I personally would like to try and which do not exist. Yet.
