Equipment for Phone Shops

I have scheduled my first phone shop using the call now feature on a laptop. Do I need a special headset to do this? I've only done phone shops from my cell phone and I've searched if I need special equipment and I can't find anything.

IDK, Honny. I was told I needed a mike. Maybe newer laptops come with built-in microphones?
If your laptop has a built in mic, you should be fine. I do this type of shop all the time with different companies and just talk outloud like my computer speaker phone. My husband does also and he prefers to use a pair of gaming headphones that have a built in mic. My biggest problem is the dogs barking or doorbell ringing or other ambient noises when on speakerphone but to me that makes my call seem more legit! smiling smiley THere is a way in Windows to test your Mic in advance, and see if it is working, picking up your voice. There are also a few websites that let you do this, test your camera and/or your mic for use in other situations.
Thank you @honnybrown I finally found some details last night after searching and searching. One thing I read from the search was that if you use the mobi app or pull up the MSC on your phone browser instead of the app, you can make the call from there. I did pull it up on the browser and the call now button and the phone numbers are available just like the laptop. I wonder if this would work or if you still need to start the call from the laptop.
I activated the app on my laptop and made the call that way. I spoke in a normal tone of voice. The next call, I activated the app on my laptop and made the call on my phone.

cease, you are correct. I made the assumption that her laptop had a mic and speakers.

To get to your computer's mic to see if it;s set up properly or if you even have one, type "microphone" into the search field- lower left hand portion of your screen....look for the Microsoft square with 4 little squares in it. (I think even 5+ year old laptops have mic/speakers.)
Yeah, but I bought my laptop used in 2008. No camera, no mic.

LOL!!!

(I know, I know: in tech years, my computer is as old as I am, LOL! )
