Phone shops

I’m interested in getting comfortable with them, taking more on. How do a find a local phone number to call for area specific shops? How do you feel about time vs wear n tear on your car (location shops)? Thanks in advance

I don't worry about having a local phone number for phone shops not in my area. In 2019 it is commonplace that people do not change their phone numbers when moving from state to state, so it's irrelevant.

As for wear and tear on my vehicle - I don't think about it. I take the mileage deduction on my tax return. I also don't take shops that are particularly far away because I shop as a supplement to my income and I don't have time to drive move than 10-15 minutes to a shop.
A lot of people are cell only now. Having a non local area code is quite common. However, if you have to have a local number, Google Voice is a good, free option.

Hi, SFLshopper! If you're interested in giving phone shops a try, Shoppers' View has them every month. Now's a good time to look. We usually post the first batch of shops around the 1st of the month. You can register and apply with us at www.shoppersview.com/shoppers. Once you're registered, you can search for phone and website shops on our Job Board by expanding your radius out to 999 miles, clicking 'Additional Filters', and selecting 'Phone' from the 'Project type' drop-down menu. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at shoppers@shoppersview.com or 800-264-5677.

Most of our shops do not require you to set-up or spoof a local number. However, if you are interested in doing so, you can look into apps like Burner, Hushed, and Google Voice. Some providers may also provide an option to block your outgoing number.

I like to do phone shops during my son's nap time. My husband and I work different shifts, and we share a car. So, when he's at work, I'm stuck at home without transportation (we're about 20 miles away from the bus line). So, phone shops make sense in my situation.

@SFLshopper For phone shops, unless you're using a Shopmetrics company, you can use *67 to hide your caller id.
