Skechers Shop?

I've never done a job for the MSC (they don't have much near me). There's a Skechers shop near where I'm going next week, and I thought it would be good to get a first shop under my belt for them. But when I read the "job notes," they're very "sketchy" on many points. It's clearly a purchase shop, but they don't say what you can or can't buy (e.g., if they sell some apparel, can you buy something inexpensive, or does it have to be shoes?), if there's a minimum or maximum price, if you can return at another time, etc. They do give you a list of several photos you must get (which seem like a lot for the pay involved). It hardly seems worth the fee, but if I can buy something I need, I'd try it.

I looked at the job notes for other available jobs on the MSC's board, and they seemed pretty complete. Do they give you more detailed instructions when you get this particular job, or are you left guessing at these things? I did write to them, but in the meantime, an inquiring mind wants to know.

I did one awhile ago. What I remember is the store sold nothing at the reimbursement level which was about $2 I think, and I ended up buying a pack of socks that I had no need for at around $10. I did return them at a later date. The shop itself wasn't too bad. It is time consuming for the fee. I don't remember having to take photos except of the exterior and receipt. It might be a different shop.

Thanks! It must be a different shop, though. This one has a reimbursement of $15. I actually need socks, so if you can buy socks, that would be great. But for a $15 reimbursement and $10 fee, I'm not buying shoes that I don't need anyway.

I do these shops all the time but always ask for a bonus of at least $10 giving me a $20 shopper pay plus $25 reimbursement. I never buy shoes, always a sweater or a water bottle or some socks lol. It's honestly a very easy shop to do with a super easy report. Maybe like 6 pictures I think.
lol I just applied for 2 of these shops but damn $15...but I need new shoes lol I have too many socks as it is.

I really wanted some sketchers shoes as I have paid $60 bucks in the past on my own money. Here the fee plus the reimbursement is up to $28 bucks here I wonder if I can get some shoes in my size lol We shall see! IF I get one assigned any. Fingers crossed and uncrossed.
I would ask for a bonus if I'd done some shops for this MSC in the past. But I haven't, so I doubt they'd extend one. Unless, of course, it gets to be the last day and it's not done. But these do seem to get taken, although not right away.

That's understandable. I only did the shop once at the posted fee and then after that I started asking a bonus. Maybe try that. I won't do any shop for a fee of $10 unless its a restaurant shop that I enjoy.

I'm right with you on that! My fee "threshold" is pretty much $20 these days unless it's a restaurant or oil-change shop or a shop I know really is "fast and easy." (Usually not the ones the schedulers say are.) LOL.

Yup! What I'm learning is everyone has their own preferences when it comes to mystery shopping. Some shops to me are worth it for little to no fee IF I needed that item, service or food anyways. Otherwise the fee must go up.
Just got approved to do 2 of them with a bonus of $10 each. So $40 total fees and $50 in reimbursement. Both locations are pretty close to each other too.Pretty good deal.
Maybe I'll apply for the one near where I'm going anyway next week. If I get it and do a good job, maybe I can ask for a bonus next time. Although there aren't many of those stores around here at all. This one is about 20 miles, and the next two nearest ones are 30 and more than 50 miles away. Not going to get bonuses big enough to travel that far!

I wish I could schedule more of these jobs. The location by my workplace gets grabbed immediately. I did manage to do one 2 years ago where the reimbursement was only $10. I do not recall what the fee was but no pics other than the receipt. It was alot of work. I had to get sized and check out their shoe marketing displays in the store. I was not happy until I found a pair of nice, fashionable, ever so comfy waterproof boots on sale for the unbelievable price of $15. That made my afternoon! I see the reimbursement has been raised to $15.
BTW, I love Skechers. My sneakers are so old. Still in presentable condition and sooooo comfortable. I bought another pair a few months ago and love them! Bought a pair of Nike and don't know which I love better.
Pretty easy shop. Can buy anything- I usually get socks. Glad they raised the reimbursement amount.
I love these shops! Very easy. My granddaughter will never have to go without shoes!
@BirdyC, did you do it? I looked back at my records and the only required picture was of the store front.
I just did one last month. Picture of store front, left and right windows and sales floor.. Men and women clothes racks if the store sells clothes.

The picture requirements recently changed
When I logged back in to apply, it was gone. Seems like a lot of work for the pay, but if you need footwear, it might be worth it.

Easy shop 3 outside pics, 1 inside and receipt. 10 mins in store minimum staff interaction, socks for the years BOGO 1/2 off. Out of pocket 15 cent.

I was thinking about doing this shop again but if I return the socks is this okay? I know for some other retail shops this is NOT allowed. Anyone do this if not I guess I could send them an email.

Also any Canadians do this shop. Do you guys get paid in USD? If so let me know thanks.

Thanks

I asked about a return and you aren't allowed to.

If it is the same shop I did a couple of years ago, yes they do pay Canadians in US$. I see they are listed with the same MSC for which I completed them. (FYI at that time the reimbursement did not even cover the cost of socks). The new Reimburement amount listed may or may not, haven't been into a Sketcher's store in a while.

This month's shop in my sort-of-local area just showed up on the board, but now I have to go find one or two others out that way to make it worthwhile. I did one out there about two weeks ago. Too bad it didn't line up with this.

thanks for the reply! I just finished the shop and anticipate my payment sometime next year. It is so ODD that they have MORE ways for you to get a NEGATIVE rating than positive. First MSC I've EVER seen do that...

3 ways to get a positive Shopper points
7 ways to get a negative value.

VERY harsh but balance approach to people who flake.
