Bed Bath And Beyond: Fires Entire C-Suite, Will It Affect MS Program?

I’ve been following the saga of BB&B hiring a new CEO, who immediately slashed literally EVERYTHING in Corporate.

Article Link: [www.google.com]

I have a contact in the company (mid-level management) who thinks that the MS program is going to be slashed as well.

Thoughts? Opinions (informed or otherwise?)

That's why its called Blood Bath & Beyond.
I wouldn't be surprised if they shut down completely within the next few years. They've been struggling for too long and the changes they're trying to make are probably too late at this point to really save it. They needed a new leadership team a long time ago.

I hope if they close down they are able to sell World Market to someone as it is one of my favorite stores. I never shop at Bed Bath and Beyond and although both have had mystery shop programs they never appealed to me. After they acquired World Market it was not as much fun to go there anymore but I still love it nevertheless and would not like to see them go. But World market lives from sale to sale. Whenever I go there between sales there are very few customers.
He will at least suspend it. Leaving aside that the guy is on a tear, there's nothing to measure until whatever changes he wants to make have been made.
I have merched there. Will they need any merchandisers?

Who said so? Why did they say it?!
Guess I better use up my BBY gift cards, much like Sears.

For me, it's their layout. Haven't been in years. But, when I did go, it was like a very cluttered, packed warehouse that was confusing and lacked visual appeal.

I actually think they sell a useful niche of products. It's just presentation that sort of makes them user-unfriendly to me. *shrug*
I have an abundance of gift cards from my credit card companies for BB&B. Combined with coupons, I can get really good deals. Most of my friends and family are foodies so it's a great place for gifts. They also have a good online presence and the ship to store option is free, plus they often have free shipping to your house if you soend a certain amount.

I never liked doing their shops because I didn't/don't like the MSC.

I think you are correct. They have started a new layout that they will roll out slowly to all stores within the next few months. I was at one of the first ones and did a double take, very different at the front area and middle of the shop. Really liked it.

A question we could be asking is whether the Amazonification of retail has hurt MS-ing the past decade or so???
We had two BBB in our town, one closed a few months ago. I long ago stopped Mystery shopping them because I could not deal with the editors. The same stupid questions over and over, even though I answered them. They also shop Buy, Buy Baby and I refuse to shop that one either. Its not worth the 15 dollar "item" and low amount of pay for the aggravation.
Are you seeing BBB on the boards to be shopped?
You're right! It's the layout. I was in one during the holidays because I had a coupon. I had to get an employee to help me find kitchen scales. This a relatively expensive product that is located in the utensil area. The scales were in the back corner and located on the lower shelves. I walked by the scales 3 times & never saw them. The lowest priced scale was $30. The shelves were closest to the junk utensils. This is the area where they sell the baking ware. That stuff wasn't up front and in your face for the biggest time of year for baking stuff. The staff was exceptionally helpful, which is always a toss up at the stores.

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning; the devil shudders...And yells OH #%*+! SHE'S AWAKE!
